Cyndi, your answering machine picked up, and I left a message, but if you're online, how are you fixed for greens? I can snag a bag or two of buttercrunch, spinach, and stuff to bring tomorrow morning.
I'm like Nduetime -- On pins and needles!!!
See you TOMORROW!!

If we could survive the 100's last year, a little rain would be child's play!
Seeing as how I got an offer on my house today that I accepted...AND I wasn't offered much-needed, yet despised overtime...I plan on making it down after all...whoo hoo!
Sorry though, haven't been able to make any fixin's for the potluck like last year, so I'll have to cheat and pay the deli-gal I 'spose!
Hmmmm, for some reason, the smilies aren't working for me tonight...grrrrrrrr!
Oh well, I'll just be glad to see you folks again, it was a great time last year!
Dave
P.S.- Cyndi, any suggestions for potluck tomorrow?

DD and I will be there with big eyes and questions! Early to mid-afternoon. She's looking forward to being "pioneers" this weekend Is there anything specific you need for the potluck? I got a couple dozen cackleberries and some mulberries I can bring, and I can always hit the store on the way in. What sounds good?

Homestead baker, I had the exact same thing I was going to post, where is the web based video feed? I almost made plans to go, but, going stag didn't seem right for me right now. It's about 2 hours away, I should have, could have, would have.... And I couldn't think of a thing to have a demonstration on that wasn't already covered. I decided to stay here and whine about it instead, and then go to a friends and do some spring canning with her, she's never canned before, so it will be fun.
I hope they have a great time, I can't wait to hear about the stories of the demo's, cooking and eating, and campfires. ~Feather

I didn't have anything to demonstrate... I don't think it is a necessity in order to attend. I just wanted to go and learn a few new things... just couldn't manage it this year.
You should go now!!! I'd be walking if I was that close!!! LOL

You can still come! I had to work because not all my hours were picked up. Hence, I will be leaving shortly, and it is 5:25 pm. I plan to stay overnight and I'm about 2 hours---hopefully less---away.
It will be dark---if we get to my pictures, fine---if not fine too!!!!

Thanks Kitty and Mtn Blue, I think I'll live vicariously through the stories and pictures this year and hope my son can come with me next year if it is his week with me. The weather is fantastic so I bet they are enjoying themselves this year.
We finished canning and my friend enjoyed her first time. She was a very gracious hostess to allow me to come over and we split everything down the middle. She wants to learn once a month cooking next and maybe pickles, she didn't think the whole deal was too hard, so I'm happy. She participated in every step. I showed her all the proper ways of doing it and it was overkill but better safe than sorry, and the whys and why nots, where she can cut corners safely.
I'll spend the rest of my week-end getting ready for work next week, I need a day to unwind. Waiting for the stories and personalities--is like waiting for the newspaper to come out, except it will be almost all good news I bet! Have fun Mtn Blu! I'll gear up for next year. ~Feather

Just popped in for a sec - to tell folks that NDueTime had to cut out early because DD's water broke. Say some prayers for Mom and Babe and for Nanna to get to the hospital in time!
All y'all should be here!!! No sun for Pony's solar cooking but she is cooking over the cook fire now.

Thanks for once again hosting a real neat weekend at your place Cyndi and sometimes Paul! I had a great time, despite the rain yesterday. Learned a bit about scythes and trapping and got to see some folks from last year as well as some new folks.
Make it if you can next year everyone.

Awesome, awesome, awesome, did I say we had an awesome time? Loved every minute and DD had a tiny little baby boy at 10:12 pm ( got there in plenty of time) on June 24. Isaac Pieter weighed in at a whopping 4 pounds 11 oz and is 18 inches long. Little tufts of curly blonde hair, daddy's nose and Momma's dimpled chin. Had a heck of time dropping in and his little heartrate went below 50 too many times to count. Finally got here at 34 weeks and scored a 6 on the apgar, turned around and scored an 8 after five minutes. The nurses are amazed, he is even nursing. Lot's of prayers and surrendering into that little man. All is well and I am beat. Cannot wait to get to my spinning wheel - thank you so much Rcrewof many and especially Rachel. Met a ton of wonderful great people and they are only a couple hours away! Yea, i am feeling very blessed right now.

Trish, so glad that Issac and DD are doing so well!!!
Just keep going back to the 'basics' (treadling, then pulling on commercial yarn) and you'll soon be spinning without thinking!!!

OH wow!! Congrats to everyone! What a blessing!
I'm sure Isaac will do well... scoring an 8 at 5 minutes is a good sign. My little guy was born at 28 weeks, all 3# of him.... he is now 16, 6' tall and 200#. He towers over me now and calls me his "little" Mama!
