right thats not what i meant i meant to protect the blades and keep them in good shape rather than all rusty but its a new mower so i want to do it right.

I know people that have their mower decks coated with Rhyno-liner spray on bedliner stuff, it keeps them nice for a long time. The blades are easy to change once they have been sharpened too many times, you don't have to worry about a lawnmower blade rusting out.
