Yup, that's the DB nuke plant. It makes it easy to find home. They're my good neighbors. They haven't shot at me.

Reminds me of camping out one time in northwest Arkansas. Was heading home when a big storm blew in. Coming down one blue highway a large tree had fallen across the road. Made my way to Lake Dardenelle (sp?) ... car being blown around on the road, dark, dark, dark, heavy, heavy, heavy rain. Got to the check-in desk getting wet even through my rain parka. Wind whippin', lightening crashing. Left the check-in, found a curbside and PARKED! Slept in my car (a Subaru wagon, by the way ... full-lay down seats in the back ... foam pad and sleeping bag ... not bad). Finally slept, storm still brewin'.

Work up the next morning to a gorgeous sunrise that lit up the cooling stacks of the nuclear power plant across the lake. Whoa .... I had no idea that park was built that close to the plant. It was a beautiful park, but kinda spooky to see posted throughout ... even on the trails ... evacuation routes and directions ...

I left fairly quickly ...

Smiles,
doohap

P.S. Y'alls photos are AWESOME!

Good grief! Our local news reported Grayson and Caroll County VA had wind chills in negative numbers (if that is your general area).

Beautiful avatar! I'd love to have some of that snow. You guys perhaps build those beautiful raised panel door cabinets yourself?

No, Auctioneer, the cabin was built in 1985 and we purchased it in 1999.

The snow is pretty to look at, but hard to work in. We still don't have all three driveways blown out. It was so windy Thursday and yesterday they'd fill in as soon as DH was done. He'll work at them again today.

We're right on Rt.2 across from the red barn on the plant property. Look for the arch barn.
