you didn't make mention of kids so i assume you have none
live somplace darn near free work for a while at your 9-5 then come fall go part time and do it maybe find higher paying full time work in summer.

and you would be suprised who the army will take.unless you are over 34 or have a disability they might consider you (i would assume you your statment had more to do with your politcal belifies) but the army may help you change some of them or confirm you were correct. but somtimes you have to try new things.
