We use Virgin too. Worst part is when you're driving through some of the woody/hilly parts around here - and you lose service connection. You get so you know where not to drive and talk.... We use the txt msgs to keep in touch with our out-of-state grown children.

phone

Check coverage first! My husband & I both had cingular but his just quit. He went to check last week. The inexpensive cingular had poor coverage in our area. My son has Tracfone and we have been happy with that so he is going to get tracfone, too. I think my cingular phone plan is going in March so I will probably switch to the tracfone. I like having them but don't need the monthly bill type.

Your best phone, though, will be with a company that has coverage in your area. Ask around.

Net10 works anywhere in the country. They are owned by Tracfone. They are 10 cents a minute no matter what. Text is 5 cents a minute. I have it and it works anywhere I go in Northern WI and the UP.
The minutes are fairly cheap 300 minutes are 29.48 at Wally World.
This is by far the best prepaid I have ever had. I have had tracfone also and the Net10 is by far better. VM is very sparsely available in the rural areas of America.

Is Tracfone and Net 10 the "outfit" that Paul Harvey advertises as being available at Wal-Mart for a total cost of $19.95 to start? (less taxes, of course)?????????

I'm not much of a "phone-talker". But, there are occasions that I could see that it would be "handy"...and if I can keep the cost down to "practically nothing", I would go get one! (The MAIN REASON I even have a phone is for my computer and the Internet........GOTTA have it for a GREAT MANY REASONS.......also think the telephone company is OVERPRICED and happen to be the ONLY PEOPLE ON EARTH that apparently are UNABLE TO COMMUNICATE via telephone!!!!!! (darned message......press 1......press 7.......what a bunch of manure!)(Are there ANY REAL PEOPLE who work for the telephone company anymore?)(Do they know how to TALK on the telephone?)

just my 2 centavos worth,
Bruce
