Such a LONG story..LOL..I'll try to condense..
When the docs put me on Lyrica, the nerve pain caused by poisoning went away..the pain in my HIP went down to a very dull roar, until I walked..then it came back full force and doubled. I took a very minor fall..but afterwards, even though I didn't fall on my back, my back hurt..a lot. The Doc ordered an MRI of my back, and for the first time EVER, an MRI of my hip..SURPRISE..despite my telling several doctors over the past years that the MOST pain that I have is in my right hip/upper leg and that it wakes me up at night and it's simply excrutiating..and despite them knowing that it's THAT pain which has kept me from walking..(NOT the pain in my lower legs..I've ALWAYS told them that was different)..nobody had wanted an MRI of my hip..

Essentially, I have "no hip left"..the MRI showed "OLD Avascular Necrosis"..that's a process where there is a lack of oxygen to the bone, killing it. The bone dies, and eventually collapses, causing severe arthritis, bone spurs, and if it's not diagnosed for YEARS, the entire joint is gone.."poof"..So much for the Neurologist who told me in 2004 that "There's no medical reason Madam that you cannot lift that right leg." I'd like to take the MRI report and staple it to his forehead (in a Christian sort of way)..

The Orthopedic Surgeon was horrified. He said he'd expect to see such an MRI if he were in a 3rd world country where people had no access to medical care. The good news is that he said he can give me a new hip..YEAH!! The bad news is that because I've spent YEARS like this, he said it will take more than a year of "very hard and painful Rehab" to learn how to walk again. Painful? I'm so accustomed to pain, that part doesn't bother me. I'm so looking forward to the light at the end of this tunnel. The nerve damage in my lower legs will be a problem always..but it pales in comparison to the pain from this. He also said that there is no correlation between the toxic neuropathy and the AVN..two totally separate issues. Can one person BE so lucky? ROFLOL..My friends are starting to call me "Jobette"..LOL..God IS good!
Lord willing, I'll be rid of this hideous pain and be able to do so many things that I've not been able to do for years and years. Bad husband & bad docs..oh well..looking ahead and not behind me..life is GOOD.

Dennis and Don stopped by for a visit and got to see the MRI photos..they were nice enough to let me whine rather incessantly.. Thanks guys!!

That is absolutely amazing Lesley, you really need to tell your story at every medical school in America. I'm not by nature a litigious sort of person, but I'm betting there are some top of the line lawyers that might also be interested in hearing from you.

Hope you will also see it as humorous, but when I think of you I'm often reminded of something you said at one of our campouts about sometimes not speaking up...girlfriend now is the time to think about changing all that

You are right, life is good.

Hugs
Marlene

oh wow lesley. i'm soooo glad for you to hear that. you must be thrilled. God is god, isn't he. ok, marlene, i'll let jessie know you'll be cooking with him again, and that there's gonna be a cook-off. he's gotten so good at scrambled eggs he cooks them for church whenever the youth host the brunch between ss and church. thanks so much for teaching him your skills he also loves to cook pancakes...but he needs a little more practice on those.......for a 12 yo, he can cook.

savannah is mad at me because i won't let her bring her CAT!!! can you see that? i am bringing my dog, and she's sure her cat would love to travel that far, too.....

Are Corky and Milt not planning on being at the Campout? I did not see their names on the list.
Would not be the same without our Sultan!

Oh, come on Laura, let Savannah bring her cat Most cats do not travel well vehicles, but her's might be the exception. I'm not sure she will enjoy having to spend all her time taking care of the cat, and playing with the cat so that it's cries to get out of it's container didn't disturb others, ask her if she'll think about that one for me for awhile

Oh, and tell Jesse, I've learned about a new way to make campout omelets that I'm hoping he'll help me try out.

Got a p.m. from Tater asking about the campout, hopefully you can soon add her to the list. Told her I'd come over and bump this up so it's be easier for her to find

Hugs
Marlene

Can't wait to see all our friends again! Told Big Joe, Shelia and Beth last night. Joe was playing at Fox's Pizza, Mountain Home and got to talk to Bethy a while. Hopefully they can make it this time. Joe now has a Jujitsu school in Flippin, something he's wanted to do for years.

Okay, I'm doing my part to keep this thread up front . . . .

We'll be there, with the munchkin. Anyone want to start talking trades? We've still got our lye soap & candles & yarn, and with a new buck, probably some angora bunnies.

Of course, this means I have to be good & get my homework done before we go. Anyone coming out Thursday afternoon?
