We like to watch them and have even thought about putting out one of those twirly feeders where they flip over and over to eat some corn.

I thought squirrel tasted like chicken when I have had it.

Something chewed thru the low voltage lighting wires in our front flower beds -- I wonder if the squirrels did it -- DW blamed rabbits and DS said groundhogs.

Squirrels--they have a right to be as well, since they are one of God's little creatures, and yes they also have a place in the food chain, BUT, in this part of the province there seems to be an over abundance of the pesky little things.. We have the small red ones as opposed to the larger black ones in the southern half of Ontario.
They literally chase birds out of the trees, have chewed and/or mangled every feeder I've tried, (even supposedly "squirrel proof" feeders) eat all the seed, especially the sunflower seeds, dig up bulbs, and last night hubby was awake around 3 a.m. to bang on the bedroom wall trying to chase them away. Our garage is attached to the house, just where our bedroom wall is. When he went into the garage this evening to check, he saw where they had been chewing on the tops of the 2x4 studs on the garage/bedroom wall, even through the insulaltion. I've also tried wrapping the feeders in duct tape, but I swear they laugh at me as they chew right through the stuff. How do their teeth not get sticky with all the duct tape glue?!! Perhaps they like the taste of the stuff? There is a non-chemical powder available through some of our seed nurseries, and I think I will bite the proverbial bullet to pay the cost to have it shipped to see what happens!
Good Luck to all those who also have this squirrel challenge!

Here is a picture of my best drinkin' buddy. I would drink Jim Beam with a splash of water, Nibbles would come over and sip off the top of my glass. A few mins. later he would mellow out and just lay by my arm on the couch or chair, it was so funny! He did it almost everytime. Like I said he lived for 9 or so years as my right hand man! In the wild they only live an average of less than 2 years so I don't think a nip now and then hurt him to much.
The best treat he ever had was two halves of a pecan with peanut butter in the middle, it was like a sandwich.
Here is a pic, I hope of him with a white russian starter kit!

I like squirrels...they don't bother my garden, since I have cats. The cats lay around the field and in and out of the garden. The squirrels tend to stay around the woodline and not come much closer.

I don't care much for eating them now,I think I may have liked it when I was a kid.

Where to start, I hate them.
2 yrs ago they made it into our attic. Had a devil of a time putting sheet metal over the alum siding.
Move last year, & a neighbor feed wild birds. I think the squirrels are there more than the birds.
We had a bumper crop of acorns this year, so I'll be expecting a bumper crop of squirrels next spring.
Whenever I go out to the car, I always get "screamed" at by a couple of them. My kids think they are cute. My DH know how I feel, but he won't let a gun in the house. (not really arguing that because of the kids)
This past year, I fed them bulbs that I planted & walnuts I gathered from the nearby park, dug up my garlic & onions, and ate all the winter grass seeds on the slope by the side of the house. They also dug into my outdoor worm bin & I believe there is a nest of some sort in the compost bin.
This rant is only about squirrels, I've also seen possums and raccoons in my yard. I live in a urban area, but there is a huge county park w/a lake within walking distance, so I get everything.

Tree rats. They're great out in the woods, but I don't hesitate to kill (and eat) 'em, when it suits my purpose.
