No snow yet but the temp was hovering at 14 degrees this morning. Even the outdoor cat refused to lick her butt.....

I'd turn the a/c on, if I wasn't so tight!

Sleeping bags (that unzip into comforters) cure that freezing thingymagig syndrome...

If everyone used thick bags at night, and turned the heat off, the energy crisis would disappear...

Might be wise to consider being prepared for what might be coming in the future. Just in case.

It rained all night here.... and it froze. Temperature is hovering around freezing, don't know for sure because the outdoor thermometer is encased in ice. We have about 1/2" of ice covering everything, and NOAA says we could get anywhere from 6" - 15" of snow on top of the ice we already have. It is currently raining/sleeting.

We are fine and still have power, unlike some. Critters are all fed and watered and tucked in their respective shelters..... so we are just going to sit tight and ride out the storm.

Wear extra clothes during the day, work up a good warm with chores, sleep naked with somebody under enough covers at night. Cold weather, no problem.

It topped out at 28° here today, which was warmer than I thought it would get.
Right now, it's 23° with a wind chill of 7°.

Here in Balmy Ohio it's 37 and I still have broccoli growing in the garden, not covered, not sheltered, not paid any attention too...

Normally this is our time to grow 'spring' vegetables. Maybe it is a good thing I've been late on the garden, or my brocolli would be frozen solid.

I lost all my bean plants left over from summer.

It sounds like the cold weather I had two nights ago has met the warm weather you folks out east have been having and the two are committing obscenities over Denver tonight.

I hate to start braggin, but 20 F is nothin. You should've come up here a few weeks ago it got down to -35 F, and THAT'S cold; where you're literally freezing you're be nice off. It's also called a deep freeze.

20F is actually considered "nice" up here this time of year, actually a little warm, 'cause the normal temps are a few degrees lower than that.

Actually, the temp today got up to about 37 F, tomorrow it's supposed to reach about 41 F, which is actually pretty nice.

So, suburbanite, put on a sweater and quit your snivelling, I'd love to be where you are right now.

Seriously.
