Well the timeline was five weeks and two weeks have passed.
We are only having the builder dry it in,we are going to do the rest.
Merry Christmas to you.

Some new pics from the past weekend.
Here you can see where the main barn doors are located as well as the side entry door.
The side of the barn.It looks VERY tall but the sheds on the sides will break up the height. We are toying with the idea of some small sliding windows on the sides to let in light...you also might be able to see the posts set in the ground for the sheds.
Me doing something...probably in shock that we have FINALLY started the process of building...LOL
View from the driveway,as you can see, there is a little clay in the soil.
If you look VERY closely, you will notice my head sticking out of the side of the building.

Some pics from our trip on Saturday.
The barn from the end of the driveway.

Here you can see the two sheds off the sides, the one on the right in the picture will have a concrete floor and also is where the entry door is located.
Side of barn from future fields...
Here you can see the entry door as well as some of the mud up there....
Me in our future home...
We are getting quite used to the drive, although the puppies seem to get car sick about halfway up....but they LOVE running around up there getting covered in red clay.

Some new pics,it is really coming together now.
Here you can see the metal roof as well as the rear windows. We are thinking of adding a couple of more windows along the length to give us more light as well as having a view of the mountains. The big 'door' opening you see is going to be closed in.
Some idiot standing in the way of the picture...oh that is me...
Above the shed is where we are contemplating putting in a window or two....

Congrats, that looks great. I hate to tell you but that's not a barn, that's a house with a big door.

Thanks all.
We are pretty much going to go ahead with three other windows along the length, two on the sunrise side and one on the sunset side.
Sisterpine, yes we are going to live upstairs.
Beeman,of course it's a barn, that is what the permit is for....
It 'might' turn into a house AFTER it is built however...

Our little deck off the living quarters.
Siding going up,not a whole lot got done this week but it was a short week due to bad weather and the builder's wife having surgery.
Another view of the deck and the front of the barn.If you look closely you can see one of the 'children'(Lucy the Basset)
Closer view of the siding.
The barn from the future pasture.
It is almost done...another week if the weather is good.

Which side will face south?
I agree on more windows on the side. Easier to have put in now than once the outside is finished.

One more week and it will be finished(Thank GOD)

The deck and French doors.
East side of the 'barn'.
French doors and stairs leading down to the left.
The rear of the 'barn' from edge of property.
How it will basically look finished.

Our little deck and the barn door opening.

Sorry I forgot to answer your question.
The side above with no windows put in yet will face south.
We won't get a lot of sun however due to there being quite tall trees on the neighboring property.
As you can tell we went with more windows and it is quite light even without one of the window roughed in.
