If You Have an eBay Account - IMPORTANT!
 

Please log in to your account and go to "my eBay" "My Account" "Preferences" on the left navigation bar.

Scroll down to almost the bottom of the Preferences Page and click on "Third Party Authorizations" and see who has authorization to act on you behalf.

I had four people who I didn't even know who they were! You can revoke these authorizations if you don't know who they are.

DO NOT THINK THAT YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING THERE JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE NEVER GIVEN ANY AUTHORIZATIONS!!!

Somehow these authorizations just show up for no reason. I do not know how they get there! It has something to do with sellers being able to pick this option or something. I'm not sure how it works. But PLEASE CHECK YOUR ACCOUNT NOW! To make sure that no one except you has authorization to your account.

You just can't be too safe.

I just cleaned out ours -- they are from various things related to your accounts such as if you used Andale services, enter the ebay contests, order boxes made for ebay sales, etc.

I cant get into mine. It is all blurred and ran together and the show option does not work. It is like the words were over other words. I dont know.

found "auctionworks" on mine-no idea who they are-revoked immediately.

I can't find "preferences" :( I have "profile", but nothing that sounds like what you are talking about. I evidently have a "premiere" account...does that make a difference?

I found that I have $8.68 in there from someone who put it there by accident. Duh. She sent it to me on the 4th of July, intending to pay for something she bought from someone else. I ignored it, thinking she'd figure it out and ask for it back. Hasn't happened yet.

I think you're into your PayPal account. Go to "My eBay" at the top of any open window once you're on eBay. Look for preferences on the lower left hand. Click on it, 3rd Party Authorizations are towards the bottom of the list.

As noted above be careful what you delete as it may affect your eBay services. eBay essentially subcontracts out some services. For example, I believe the auction counters come from a third-party, such as Anadale. Photo hosting may be third party provided. Even though eBay owns PayPal they are run as two independent businesses and you have to allow PayPal to access your eBay account for it to work properly. If you use a sniping service, you have to authorize it to access your eBay account so they can bid on your behalf.

I wouldn't be surprised if some who bulk deleted don't experience some eBay problems from what they are use to seeing.
