I work at a Home Improvement Retailer that sells the Dewalt line. I wanted to suggest to also look into the Hitachi Products (including their sawzall). They are contractor grade and the majority of Hitachi products have a five year warranty. Just can't be the quality and value on them. Prices are normally lower than other Contractor grade products.

Harbor Freight - I would only buy that if i wanted to throw my money away. The junk they sell, mostly China orgin, is just that, junk. For Sawall, the only one to go with is Milwaukee. You can find them used on ebay or in pawn shops and they last forever. Dewalt makes some nice tools but their reciprocating saws (aka Sawzall) is not one of them.

good to see you around again, deberosa.
Thanks Marvela,

For Cordless that is a great deal. Mine has been worked hard for 3 years and the batteries and saw is still in great shape. As for chain saws - I solved that by going electric. However long cords and the need to saw close to the ground makes my sawsall a better tool for clearing brush and small trees.

I think you will be more than happy with the DeWALT for that kind of money.
While we are on saws, where is the best place to buy a charger for a DeWALT 18 volt XR+ NiCd battery??
The charger for mine grew legs a while back. I have plugged the battery up a couple of times on someone elses charger and it works fine. I just now went and took it down and the battery still had a little juice in it, so maybe all I need is the charger. Hope the battery will still recharge. It has so far.
