I won't lecture about shopping at Wal Mart. I think the damage was done years ago when we could have actually make a difference.

It is true that Wal Mart is sometimes the only place to shop, especially in rural areas.

It is true that Mom and Pop stores have China products. That goes for ALL stores - high end and Wal Mart.

When my daughter got married, I am so cheap, I began looking in the less expensive department stores. I am hard to fit and hard to please, so I had to check all stores available to me. I was surprised (don't know why) to find exactly the same clothing (just different tags and different prices) in all of the stores.

I don't like Wal Mart - shop there (or anywhere) as little as possible - but once again, the deed is done and it is past time to wish for the days when you could go to JC Penney's and buy Pima cotton undershirts, at a price young marrieds could afford, that lasted and stayed white for 2 years.

We could actually afford better quality clothing, sheets, towels, etc., years ago when we were early marrieds. The quality is just not there for ordinary people.

So while things are cheaper, they are not more economical - but there's not a lot we can do.

I just was there last night and TOOK Advantage of the 4 dollar prescriptions on meds.~! Real neat. Got 90 supply for 12 bucks and my Doctor all she did was FAX the prescript in, no more Hand Written ones. Went into Walmart stepped up to the pick up window, signed for the meds payed at the casher. only after doing some grocery shopping. Real neat , real fast and the prescript was Cheap. Saved me over 50 Bucks~!!!! If I had my Schedule D in force of which I do not. lol Really it is more then that because D cocts me 30 bucks a month so I would still be paying that amount even though no meds are bought. So at a 3 months prescript. Just keeping it that long savings is at least 100 dollars.

Boleyz, that looks like a great Christmas present for your family! When I was a kid we had a Carrom board that I swear we almost wore out playing on. Thanks for bringing back that memory for me. I hadn't thought of that in years.

We bought the same table a few weeks back-- It was the biggest part of Thanksgiving; everyone loved it and it gave the kids something to do since we don't own any kind of video games or gaming type systems. It was a paint to put together-- I had to do the whole thing by myself and wait for my dh to get home to help me put the top on, plus the three guys at the store to help me get it on top of the minivan, and the neighbor to help me get it off of the van....

Anyway, last week we looked at the cheaper version at Sears and I think we made the right decision-- this table is 7' and the one at Sears is 6', plus, ours is made out of sturdier stuff, unlike the one at Sears, when we move, we'll have to move this one in two pieces (top and bottom), the one at Sears would have easily come back apart to just about how it came out of the box-- leaving us with the hope of trying to get it all back together again. I'm not real big on Wally-world iether, but I really think this was a good deal-- the plastic legg covers threw me though

Glad to hear good reviews on this table. My husband and sons are getting this exact table to go in their "man room" out in the barn. They can't wait...and neither can I, at times the testosterone is overwhelming!

Just make sure they have a rachet set and a long skinny phillips screw driver-- I tried to use the "tool" that came in the box and promptly broke it.
