Where to now?

The pound! Find a nice old lab type dog to talk to and share your adventures with!

If you come through SW VA stop by. You can park by the creek. We'll cook you up some venison on the wood stove.

Fordy,

Speaking as someone who is "stuck" in one place for the foreseeable future, don't even get to take a vacation, I expect you to give us regular posts on where you are, and what you are doing! Learn how to post some pictures, too, so we can see the sights with you. Don't forget about us !! Have a great time!!!

I didn't read the other posts. But first might think of a metat detector and get on at least this treasure site forum. Treasurenet. And you can check on alot of the u.s. on treasures, cache's, lost gold, prospecting ect.All close to a town you might be in at the time. And if you hit the big one, well remember me. If you don't have net access you can check at the local library of the town you land in. Good luck and have a real good time. My father is a snow bird between west wyoming and southern utah. He also gets down into new mexico and arizona with his detector. It can be a source of a good time and extrra money, sometimes a surprising amount.

..................So many great responses and I want thank each and everyONE of you'll for taking the time to express your good wishes . I think I should provide some background here to help you'll understand the truck and trailer I'm going to be pulling with and living In. First , the truck , is a 1999 F250 , super duty 7.3 diesel with 99,ooo miles and it still is running great . I bought this truck new and it is entering it's 8th. year of life . I've added some performance enhancements like a 6 position chip that makes it run much better than it did stock , this is for pulling my trailer only , no racing those "Ricers" with the loud mufflers . I've also added a 4 inch exhaust to help keep the (EGT) exhaust gas temperature from melting the blades on the turbo . The trailer is a 99 model , 33 feet long with two slides and is made by a company called Travel Supreme . It's unloaded weight is 13,400 which , technically is Too heavy for my f250 . But , I have talked with others who are using the same truck pulling a 5'ver that is just as heavy . So , I will tow the trailer in 40hp position on the chip and keep my speed between 60 and 65 . Obviously , the trailer will weigh more after i get it back to texas and loaded with the essentials . Hopefully , Not too much more . All that fishin' equipment and my single shot BB gun will add a bit .
...................The ironic thing is , IS , that I have spent so much time educating myself about trailers and their quality that I really haven't given much thought too , where I really want to spend time some time nor what I want to do for fun as well as work . The metal detector is a machine worth investing some capitol in so I will look into one of those in the near future .
....................I have just finished loading my truck and it is very heavy with tools and a floor jack in case the trailer has a flat on the side of the road . I don't relish the idea of using a 4-way to remove tire and wheel . I've got to get my clothes packed before Beddy bye so I won't have to wear the same skivvies and socks for the next five days or so lest I dine "in" at a truck stop , where I'll look and smell like the "guys" . No offense to any truckers I'm just reporting what i've seen lately at the Petro here in texas . More to come later . thanks fordy...

Start monitoring the high dollar communications boards, aviation, corporate, businesses, its where I find our places that need caretakers. The business owners have ag properties that need caretakers to keep established the ag exemptions concerning taxes.

You can find lots of metal detectors to choose from at a good price at Kellyco kellycodetectors.com They also have a sales catalogue they'll send...get it because it's easier to compare detectors that way.

If you find yourself tired by Miami, OK, try the Best Western right off the turnpike. Inexpensive, good restaurant there. Food's good too.

Lots to do/see out there...enjoy it all!

outrageously blessed

You are truly living the American Dream. You are doing what most people would like to do but lack the intestinal fortitude.

I salute you! (good luck and all that.)

Lots of us are actually jealous of your new found freedom.

warmly,

Pat

P.S. Just north of us on Hwy 4 in the Jemez Mt. river valley, are placed you can park your vehicle and live for a spell. The views? Stunningly beautiful. The trout fishing? World Class!

Come to New Mexico!
