Dang Lisa, Now I am homesick for my cabin in Montana and I live in Louisiana! I was once out at my cabin in the winter and there was 18 inches of snow. I usually only go to the cabin in the summer, but have flown out in the winter to see family and snowmobile. I hope to set up a webcam at my cabin when I can. We don't have a phone line at the cabin, so I will need to get a sattelite(sp) phone. Double Dang it, I can see myself now at the cabin with the wood stove going and hot chocolate or coffee. I love to listen to the snow falling, it is just wonderful. You have a great place Lisa. Thanks.

Super awesome barn.

Your pictures are beautiful Lisa, and I know you are thankful for being able to enjoy those views all year round! I think you are doubly blessed to have water flowing on your place

It's a pity that the wealthy and famous are buying out there.. it does make land far more expensive. I guess it is a good thing for the seller, so perhaps mixed blessings.

I won't have time. We'll be too busy ice fishing and exploring trails on our snowmobiles.

No, sorry I don't know him. I asked my husband (he works in Sandpoint) but he doesn't either.

Thanks everybody, for the kind comments. I'll remember them tonight and tomorrow morning when we're out in the coming arctic blast wondering why we ever left Arizona.
Thanks to those who covet our barn. I have to brag that my husband and I built it ourselves. Mostly my husband. I held the rigging while he was balanced up on the roof, so he owes me his life. We built the cabin too.
I covet your closet space. What I'd do for some closets..... And a bigger kitchen. It's coming. This is a work in progress.

Lisa, your place is beutiful, DH says he has been near there.
Snowing here in PR. Pretty, but not going to be so nice when it gets down to below zero tonight. Then add the wind chill factor, they said some thing like 25 below.
We are putting blankets on the windows to keep out the cold. I don't think it has been this cold in Nov. for a few years.
We're going through fire wood like crazy.
Take care of your self and stay warm.

Thanks Squashnut. I just got home from Newport and PR and the thermometer says 17 degrees. I love the snow but don't like when it drops below zero. No school if it hits -10!
You stay warm too!

You are off-grid aren't you? What kind of internet do you have? We have satellite but it cuts out during storms and sometimes during the winter we can only get on a few times a week. Hows your conection out there?

How beautiful and serene your home looks.
Very nice pictures thanks for sharing.

BTW- it reminds me of those little cabins with the incense burning. When I was in 4th grade our teacher would light the incense and read Little House on the Prarie to us.
Enjoy your winter

Yep, we are off-grid. Our internet service is thru WildBlue and we just switched to them after having Hughes for a couple of years. We didn't like Hughes much but we do get very good service with WildBlue.

Do you feel like you get a better connection with WildBlue? We have a directway system and as long as the sky is clear things are great, once storms move in though it's over.

DirecWay became Hughes. When we first had it it was pretty good except in heavy rain. Snow was fine except I have to go out and clean off the dish every now and then. Then we started having major problem over the past maybe 3 months. It was actually about the same price to have WildBlue installed as it would have been to have a Hughes repairman come out. I think we have better and faster connections with Wild Blue. More consistent too.
