ROFLOL..I LOVE "Keeping up Appearances"..great show.

IMHO, it's all about "attitude", motivation..etc. Often, I'll sit here and after making myself a very simple meal I'll serve it to myself on a lovely old blue china plate, and instead of just any old water glass, I'll use a stemmed wine goblet. Why? Because I'm not only feeding my body but also feeding my"sensibilities"..all of "me"..I LIKE beautiful things..yet attaining them doesn't rule my life..If given the choice between a plain mug and a gorgeous hand-painted china coffee cup, I'd happily choose the china one..why not? Would I arm-wrestle someone over it? LOL..no. Would I NEED to have it? NO..would I pout or would my day be ruined or would I think myself ill-used if I didn't have one? LOL..again, "no".

I see nothing wrong at all with ambition..as long as the focus is to "improve" one's circumstances vs "I must have the most toys."

In this example, both the cup, and the coffee were free. When presented with no cost items, don't take the low quality items. When you are paying the bill, don't let your desires overload your ability to pay.
People who pay cash will eventually be able to afford higher quality items than people who have to pay interest on a lot of things they could have done without.

I'm not sure how good and evil crept in this..I understand that quality of coffee like the quality of life is most important. That which shows on the surface matters much less. Did I get it?...Glen
