Hey, thanks friends, I have a lot of choices to check out. I will get busy, and I love it when I can get first hand info, not some advertising speal on a glossy ad sheet. Over and over, this board has the best!!! Thanks again.

does any one know where you can get good mens size 13-15 socks.
I have found size 10-15 ones but they are not the same. And some get too small after one washing.

Yep, bought some Thorlos they were pretty expensive and I wore them out in the heal pretty fast, that's the thing I always wear holes in the heals, if those gold toes were gold heals I'd stick with them. I bought a bunch of those gold toes and to thier credit I never wore out the toes, but I walked holes in the heals in a day. Smart wool is the way to go no itch, preshrunk, machine washable.

Last Christmas I learned to knit. Now at almost Christmas again I am working on my second pair or socks for DH.

When you knit you can make any size.. My Dh wears a size 11 to 13 depending, you can custome make any length also. Also merino and merino blend and even alpaca are much less expensive when you buy natural fibers on-line.

i really wish i had a brand name for the wool blend socks i bought years ago. i also wish i had bought every pair they had. i wash them and toss them in the dryer at least 6-8 times per month. after two years i would say they still have a year left easy being worn at the same rate. i walk in them on concrete sometimes. thinking back...they may actually be three years old.

i wear them in the summer and winter. because they are part wool they seem to wick water away and my feet stay dryer than cotton.

i don't know what is up with the cotton/undergarment industry these days. most items just don't hold up. maybe i will try the gold toe. iwill still try to hit "the lottery" be purchasing the occassional pair of wool blend socks. my two pairs are awesome! they were cheap too.

I think Hanes makes a horrible sock. Me with foot issues is very picky. I got a pack of socks at meijers I think out of an isle box. they are the best Ive ever had. well, a couple months goes by and I go back to find more, and I cant find them anywhere, meijer, walmart kmart, nothing. They, on the underside center under the toes, they have the logo. It is a grey cirle with hands, somewhat resembles a clock with no dots or numbers. But no name brand. does anyone know what kind these are so I am not searching blind?
