'Always ON' appliances

We applied for it but were told they don't do it. I suspect it's a result of the automatic meters they installed a couple years ago. We used to read our own meters and send in a card every month with the reading and our payment for the previous month. The highest bill we ever had was about $110 (yes, we gave honest readings). They changed out all the meters and now they are read by satellite. Every month the bill gets a little higher. I think the new automatic meters are wacko and it's just a matter of time until the bill gets so high we'll have to tell them to come take it out. I hope we can convert to solar before that happens.

the only self read meter thing we have here is I read it one month, they read it the next, and then I read it then they read it and....

If you think there is something wrong with your meter, make them check it.

I once had a friend whose bill seemed too high. She kept calling the company and they kept saying everything was correct. After some time, they finally did check her meter, it seems it was malfunctioning someway and a new meter fixed the problem.
