The scare tactics are on both sides of this issue.

Remember Elian Gonzalez, the little Cuban boy who survived a nightmare at sea where he lost his mother, only to be "saved" by his anti- Castro Miami family who refused to let him return to his father? They were saying "Bad Castro, bad man, we'll use little Elian to make a case for our extreme opinions against you!" Anywhere else the boy would have been returned to his father, but as it went, the father happened to be in Cuba. Shame on our govt. for strong-arming that event. Such a military show down for a tiny little boy... reporters had a field day with front page coverage. God forbid anyone should question why the family kept refusing to comply with court orders. In Cuba, Elian is a folk hero.

The more I learn about human nature the more I question everything. I question both sides but I certainly don't like someone trying to pull emotional strings to persuade. That is childish. The argument loses credibility. Write for the National Enquirer. Heck, I wonder if this story hasn't made their front page? We, as U.S. citizens, aren't immune from regulations but bring anti-govt. sentiment into this and you get a ready group of followers who don't want to read for themselves. They've been fed by the fever for generations.

Read for yourselves. Develop your opinions. Believe in your convictions. But for crying out loud don't try to belittle other's use of the same process by spinning it into what it is not.

That website info is very misleading. Pseudorabies is alive and well in Texas. I guarantee you that it is out there. My friends keep losing dogs from time to time to that dread disease simply because feral hogs carry it and spread it.

i have just read the above and what is in the SR forum. i have a few questions...

why was the husband arrested when he was supposedly not required to have a permit due to being grandfathered in? was there a need to seperate him from his family as a control mechanism?

was the gaming commission peaved that he was grandfathered in and wanted him to have a very expensive permit?

were the folks who were left at home allowed communication with the outside world? were they even able to contact lawyers or others who could represent their point of view?

why was the operation conducted in such a secretive way? if the government agencies had a firm position to work from, why was there no chance at secondary or independent testing by the owner?

did the government really omit stages 1 and 2 of protocol and procede to stage 3?

why was blood scattered everywhere and the corpses of these animals allowed to contaminate the property and the roadways?

did the agencies involved actually produce any evidence that infections were found...are they required to?

Henshaw incident as seen by someone who thinks it's a hoax

This is not by me BTW

No one in VA outside of NAIS seems to know anything about this--not the news, not people living in VA--nothing can be corroborated that isn't being supplied by either the alleged grieved party or NAIS.

Second, the so-called documented proof that was obtained was "mysteriously stolen" from someone's car when they just happened to be way too tired to think of bringing in a briefcase with all these precious documents to prove the existence of this case as reported.

Third, IF it were found that the USDA (or whomever--I have never heard of the USDA people touting guns as a routine part of their work uniform) had acted without due process, at bare minimum, people would lose their jobs, and I can't see civilians being that "robotic" in following orders.

Fourth, I know a USDA inspector, and while this person probably deserved to carry a gun for protection against some of the nasties who apparently believe that no one has the right to question their practices, unsafe as they may be, the job description DENIED the right to carry protection.

Fifth, the people pushing this and the other story keep saying that a law that is currently NON-EXISTANT is the cause of this happening.

I can't remember what county the Henshaw case is supposedly in, but the second case is in Cumberland County, VA, and the person's name is supposedly Eugene Davis. I would recommend that anyone wanting to believe these stories contact the County Courthouse and ask the docket clerk/court clerk for information and copies (should be roughly $1.00 per page for copies).

Having just seen the lengths that people like this go to in a "protest" against fashion (they seemed to have targeted a designer who uses faux fur in their collection...), I have no problem believing that this is a hoax, made-up, propaganda, designed solely to work on people's fear button to achieve their goal.
