Stacy

Backhoes are cheaper!!!

A few select individuals in this neck of the woods have insurance policies with Backhoe Inc. Someone gets hurt, it's the backhoe and the back 40, or the back 100, or down by the slough...

I actually told two guys that once, after chasing them for 15 miles... they thought it was a joke, till they met someone with the "same policy"...and she told them that "I" had actually employed the "policy" twice... after that, the yahoo's told everyone that I was crazy as a loon...

Like the Mastercard commercial... that little moment was priceless... now very few bad people wanna trespass me...

We bought a million dollar policy as well. I'm in town, so no backhoe. LOL
We had a kid (illegal daycare not watching the kids) ride his bike right into the back of my car. Frankly we are lucky he wasn't hurt as I suspect his family would've sued us.
And whether they won or not, it would have cost us a lot of money for a good lawyer. The insurance policy takes care of that and is cheap peace of mind since we can't count on others to be responsible.

I can't stand trespassing, but dh is a hunter, so he's a little lighter on people than I am

We have a big "no trespassing" sign at the front of our driveway entrance.
The other day a guy came & introduced him self - he was very nice, but just drove up to the door & wanted to know if he could go hunting on our property.
I thought to myself "did you not see the big bright orange no trespassing sign WHEN YOU DROVE BY IT?!"
But I was nice & told him we didn't allow people we didn't know well to hunt on our property.
Nice to meet you - goodbye!

That being said, I've been a trespasser myself many times, but now that I'm a land owner I realize how important it is to respect that.
