Oh come on!

I've been getting lots of giggles from the some of the "out-in-left-field" comments!

But---I suppose, all fun good things must come to an end.

Variety is the spice of life.

Well its time to open another 50 pound bag of sun flower seed and get the suet blocks ready for tomorrows bird visitors.

The Gold Finches have certainly lost their bright yellow color in the last several days.

I still have a few hummers lingering.

Before long it'll be time to get out the extension cord for the heated bird bath.

And before long it'll be time to get the gun and ammo ready for deer season. Got my license already.

Imagine that---If I get lucky again this year, I'll be actually KILLING a deer!

And I might even come on the HT forum and share that news with my friends.

Heck, I may even do a little partridge hunting---------oh, and fall turkey hunting will be here soon, too!

Yee Gads----I'm such a "terrible person"!

I agree that you should have done the whole SSS thing, but you'll probably remember the last one next time.
Anyway, don't feel too bad about all the fussing. I got raked over the coals once for nearly a week, for mentioning that I wormed my laying hens.
I was accused of overworming my husband, pets, & neighbors, & damaging pregnant women. (Only one of which eats my eggs, & he didn't mind being wormed.)
Never mind that the same medicine can also be used to worm people.
The next time I felt the need to worm chickens, I kept the news to myself.

Sorry for laughing at your troubles OD, I got a kick out of your post. I missed the original thread.
I quit mentioning my rattle snake battles around the farm (inside the house and out). I haven't changed my ways, I just don't talk about rattlesnakes anymore. LOL!

TP, we all gather here to share happenings in our lives. I'm sure 95 percent of us woulld have done the same thing you did, and most of the other 5 too if they actually had to face that situation.
People, please, don't let quick-to-judge members dissuade you from posting anything you want (within the limits set by ht, of course.)
I think it really narrows the scope of the board when people are afraid to post because someone might flame them (then come the hoardes of other flamers most of whom are just jumping on a bandwagon 'cause they can.)
It's their problem. If they don't want to live their lives the way others do, then they shouldn't. But they shouldn't try to influence how others live theirs - expecially not with holier-than-thou, know-it-all offensive posts. Their viewpoint should be calmly and politely stated, then dropped.
Nobody here is anyone else's momma (well, maybe a couple, literally.) It is not anyone's job here to train anyone else how they should live.
This is a place where we all come to discuss our homesteading lives. Of course there will be posts some disagree with - just state your view in an adult, non-insulting manner. We are adults, right? And come on, you do know that 99 percent of the time you aren't gonna change anyone's viewpoint - no matter what you say - don't you?
Ya'll should be ashamed of yourselves for attacking anyone to the point that they don't feel welcome to post, or have to second guess themselves about what's safe to post here.

BTW cowgirlone, I for one would love to hear of your rattlesnake escapades, especially the inside the house ones!

cowgirlone, you go girl.:-) I hate rattlers. So there.
I know I for one have quit telling most farming and our water situation stories here because I got such insulting remarks that I had to go away for awhile(that was a couple years ago LOL), shoot, even our beloved army ranger said that there was nothing noble about being a fulltime farmer, oh well, I am purdy toughskinned but sometimes it just hurts. Funny how some things, from strangers, stick in your mind a long time.

Not this 95%.We got rid of them here just by hanging CDs from the eaves of houses. They are still eating the bark beetles in the pine trees.

They have a place in the enviornment.
