I like the look so well I'm thinking about doing it to the bathroom floor, when I remodel it.

Afriend of mine glued rooster prints on her plywood and then cover it with the bar top. She also made her own cabinet doors with 1x2's and used chiken wire for the inside. Looks very nice.
Where did you get 5 gallon buckets of epoxy?...and how much did it cost?

Mine is poured concrete with leaves rolled in the top when almost dry. Concrete was stained a light brown. I sanded it a little to make it smooth and put sealer on it. We just wipe with bleach water. I took nice red pin oak leaves that had fallen off the neighbors tree and pressed them flat first. Goes very well with my old red handled kitchen tools too....James

My daughter put the galvanized tin on her counter - the local plumbing/sheet metal shop did it for her. The tin is wrapped around a piece of plywood, so no edging needed. It looks great an so cleanable. Very reasonable.

Any ideas that dont' include laminate or tile??? (The countertop isn't perfectly square and things like that would really point that out) Has anyone used wood of some type or ??? Appreciate all the ideas!
How about copper sheeting?

I think someone posted a link for West System epoxy. DH has used that often and really loves their products. It isn't inexpensive, but it works well. You usually have 2 (or maybe 3) products that you mix together and then apply. Check marine supply places or the West System website might have a link to find a dealer.

I like the concrete idea too--never heard of it but it sounds great.

I had wood countertops for several years. We used leftover pine 2x6's from the ceiling we'd installed. These were tongue-and-groove and we used polyurethane on them. They were beautiful and easy to clean, too. The problem we had was the sink. We did not put it in correctly and it ended up rotting the countertop around it.

I had 2x6 tongue and groove yellow pine countertop with 4 or 5 coats of polyurethane and were beautiful. When we remodeled though I went with rustic looking 6" tile which has a tiny grout line and I used grout a dark grout that matchs. If I can ever get someone to teach me to post pictures I will take a picture and post it. I worried about breaking things but so far I have not and it has been several months now. One reason I went with tile is because it is so easy to clean. I worried all the time about the wood countertop getting wet and rotting.
