yep, it has to be at least close as I was told by two different sources that a bushel is usually between 45-48 pounds. We have always liked the Del Monte Harvest peach peaches. They run almost 2.00 here so I figure if I canned 12 quarts I got half that and everything else plus some for free.

I love second pick southern Ontario peaches when it's a good year. I don't know if this is a 'good' year yet as I haven't got any peaches yet, except for B.C. peaches which were small but sweet and very juicy.

I ordered locally from the mennonites some peaches to come in next week. Oddly enough she said they are coming in from Pennsylvania and will be very good 3rd pick crop. I'm looking forward to those next week.

We have two, one red haven and cant remember the name of the other that I bought and planted two springs ago, they were from walmart last year they had a few but this year they were loaded with some nice big peaches, I could not believe the photos DW sent of the kids eating them. Would have been more if the deer had not eaten lots of the branches and fruit, I need to fence them in. The montmorency cherry is growing good now that the cows are gone, I fenced them in but the little bull killed the sweet stella wish I could have replaced it before I went over seas. Have lots of little apple trees I made grafts on most of the grafts did not take as it was to late in the spring when the scions came I will try again when I get home.

I "had" a good crop of peaches this year. Tree was so full hubby had to prop up branches with a board. I know there was at least a bushel or more on that tree. Went to feed the chickens the next day and there wasn't a peach. I was hot. The deer came in that night and ate every peach off my tree. I guess I'm still not over that one. I guess that's what I get for living in the mountains, and probably having the only peach tree for miles.

Frost got my peaches this spring. We had three to grow to ripening stage and they were golf ball sized due to drought. Glad I have some in the freezer from last year.
