Ah I see it now.....I should try and stay on topic !

all the more prooof that he probably isn't the guy to go after in this thing. Way to irresponsible to actualy meet any obligation he may owe to a stranger. You should see about buying these people out with your insurance money.....gonna suck to live near them once you make your move !

Thanks for all your input. Gonna go see our insurance agent tomorrow. Probably not as satisfying as facing them in court, but a more realistic solution. I'm angry - not because he burned our building. Of course he didn't mean to. I'm angry at the way he handled the situation. It's not just a major financial loss for us, but a loss of all those things we can't replace. However, in spite of losing all that, we are blessed. It wasn't our home, nobody was hurt, we have our family and nothing is more important than that.

This happend to me a few years back. same story but the neighbor did have home owners ins. your choices are this call the law they should have persued this any way. next is clame it on your insurance let your insurance co fight it out with them. you pay big money for just this reason. one way or the other you'll get whats comming to you. be sure to not let them rip you off because they will short cut every way they can. dont worry about what will happen because they will dop you any way so get whats comming to you.
