Follow this link and you can choose a charity to donate it to. They will pick it up and you will get up to $500.00 tax deduction for your charitable contribution.

They will sell it (I've seen them on Ebay). If it sells for more than $500 they will send you a postcard with the amount for your records and you can claim the larger amount.

Try pricing a used transmission at a local junk yard. They usually will change it out for you. Just make sure they have a written warranty on it.
