I appreciate everyone's resonses, even those that don't understand how good a hot tub and a swimming pool can be. We used bromine in our old one and cost and maintenance was not much of a factor compared to the benefits. And this was with an old tub and an inefficient homemade cover. Our tub was always outdoors and the best time to use it was in the winter especially when it was snowing. I considered the snorkel stove or building something like it but as stated it does require lead time which I might not have before wanting to use it. We used ours almost every night for an hour or so.
I was considering a Dynasty Spa as they are made nearby, does anyone have one? We don't need a big one as it's just the 2 of us so the smaller lightweight ones look interesting.

We have had various Jacuzzis over the years.

We have settled down now to a ‘Spa-n-a-box’ It breaks down into two cardboard boxes for easy setup. It takes about thirty minutes to setup. We had it in our motorhome for a year, and now it is setup in our living room. In fact my chair as I type this is two feet from it.

I am in it twice a day. My wife once or twice. The kids too.

We had a big [8-person] Jacuzzi in our home in Washington, it was in our basement. We learned there about the H2O2 based chemicals. So we generally use them.

You can not smell it, or taste it. In fact to all human senses you would think it was faucet water just heated to bath-tub temps, but it is really spa water. Right now where it sits I filled it in March. It had been in our motorhome, but we moved into the new house in March. So that was when I filled it. I do change out the filters each week, I soak them in filter cleaning goo, and rinse them out. It takes two filters at a time, I have a total of six filters. I have had these filters since 2003. So they do last a long time.

We use the Baqua-spa chemicals, though I supplement it with cheap H2O2 from a ‘sallys supply house’, where I get it cheap.

Shop around and you can get these for right around $1,000.

I had never seen the spa n a box, it looks like a great idea and the price seems OK. I did find some negative feedback about it here. I want a spa that can be left out and I wonder how the Spa N A Box would hold up. http://www.hsn.com/cnt/prod/default.aspx?webp_id=2098467&web_id=2098467&sf=hf& dept=hf0021&prev=hp!sf!dept

I want to go look at Dream Spas as they might be what we're looking for

WOW

!!!

I had not seen those reviews.

We have had our a couple years.

I set it up in our basement and it ran fine and six months.

Then I set it up out in the Motorhome and ran it through the winter in Ct, then a year later, moved to Maine and ran it in the motorhome while parked there. and now I moved it into our house and it runs here.

I was just in it with my wife, before typing this.

I guess that maybe I am one of the lucky ones. ???
