Anyone that is up for a beautiful drive in/through the Ozarks might stop at the War Eagle Mill just east of Rogers, Arkansas. I can't remember the owner's name, but she is very helpful, will sell bulk grain in any amount. She also grinds and has a wonderful restaurant upstairs - it's well worth the trip.

I am very curious about grain mills. I've been looking at the Daimant hand mill, but would really like to hear from anyone that has owned this particular type of mill. (What I would really like to do is try it before I buy it).

I said well if I buy some and make some bread will you taste it? They said sure...after I taste it first. In other words, if I don't die, they will eat my bread made from wheat berries not labeled for human consumption.

So...is this safe wheat for humans or just for critters? I have in the past purchased in bulk, but the shipping is a killer and with gas prices so high, it is likely to be worse than in the past. What do y'all think?

I wouldn't eat grain from the feedstore. There are looser regulations and monitoring regarding pesticide use in the storage bins.
Bought a bag of wheat from one of our local feedstores once, it smelled so strongly of pesticides I just threw it away.
