Washington state. About 15 miles north of the Columbia river. About 100 miles east of Portland, OR. Not too far from Mount Saint Helens and not too far from Mount Adams.

Not rural here AT ALL. 1/2 acre zone. We heat mostly with wood, and I do what I can with my garden and "orchard in process". To my dismay there are no farm animals allowed. Maybe I'll sneak some in someday when things are a bit more settled. We would like some advice on teaching a cow to say "woof" if anyone has been successful at this type of thing. Perhaps chickens that say "Meow". Don't think the neighbors would be too hard to fool... LOL

We hope to get up to our 20 acres in NH sometime before we are too old to take advantage...

ps - PONY you crack me up.

Cali-for-ni-a

Though, I was born in Washington, DC, lived in Maryland till I was 3, but CA ever since.

Despite what the TV shows you, Southern California is mostly desert region. Where I am.... you can tell.
