The laws here in wi we had to have it insatlled by a pro. So we had our local heating ac guys come out. They told us what we needed we went to Menards to get it. It was less than 500.00 the stove was less than 500.00 we spent like I think it was for the whole thing including wood was 1100.00. the wood stove paid for its self and piping the first year.
Running the chimnie threw the wall is MUCH CEHAPER than going thew the roof due to the expensive pipe and stuff you need for the attic and roof. "says my husband".
This time of the year heating ac people are busy installing for winter. I knw we had to wait 3 mts for the guys to come install our pipe.
Good luck snugglebunny

SInce I burn with a woodstove only in my studio, I make tea. Just put the kettle on and in a few minutes, voila, hot tea.

Speaking of using a dutch oven with coals on it to cook something. Hubby and I were doing yard cleanup day. Had a great bonfire going all day to clean up yard waste. PUt a huge potroast, onion & lots of veggies, filled half way with water. Put in coals and put coals on top. Had no idea how long to cook it but we didn't want to under cook it.

Take the lid off at the end of the day and VOILA...a blackened charred mess with zero liquid. I mean we are talking about CHARCOAL and nothing more. NO sign of life other than that. Man did we laugh and laugh. We had invited neighbors over for dinner. I'm glad I had a backup dinner. To this day we have not cleaned out that pot and keep it on "display."

Oh boy! Getting cool here in NY. Don't tell my dh but, it's almost time to get our wood heating stove ready to roar. Then it's cooking time! I'm going to try some new recipes in that Wood Heating Cookbook this year.
