The garden will be in an area at the back of our lawn. I chose the only spot on our ten acres that has green grass growing. I have chickens. I can supply lawn clippings and leaves by the truckload!

  • cut downwhatever is on the ground now
  • putdown 4" of manure compost
  • cover with 1 layer of cardboard or 4 layers of newspaper
  • wet with water
  • put 8 to 12" of straw down
  • wait and plant when you want
  • either by digging a hole and putting in a plant
