Maybe i used the wrong stra-te-ger-y. Maybe i should have tried to show how nice and good of you it would have been to keep your animals quiet. How you could have been the better person by assuming more responsibility for your animals than the law required. And how making life more enjoyable for your neighbors would make your life more enjoyable as well.

Na, that wouldnt of worked, would it ?

I have a fire alarm that beeps every once in a while to let me know it is working. But it will really go off big if there is a fire. Dang, it sounds like a working dog. Maybe I should get rid of it. If it ever went off it could wake the neighbors and cause them some lost sleep. Never mind that everything I own might burn. I sure wouldn't want to disturb my neighbor. LOL BARK BARK BARK. (Think the grandkids should go to?)
There has been some dancing done on the past few posts, but is is a dance called the barn yard shuffel. If you don't know it, it is the dance you do when you step in something in a barnyard and you are trying to wipe it off.

thats not exaclty true, its like having a smoke alarm wired to a alarm outside, so that when you burned your toast it woke up the neighbors .

And if tsdave wants quiet neighbors he should live next to a cemetary.

Now I have a few questions for prynad. Since you were so neglectful on telling the neighbors about their bad well. I am assuming you missed some other real important things. Did you check to see if they have health insurance? Are they eating anything that could cause cancer and you haven't warned them? Oh My, I bet they smoke cigarettes and you didn't warn them about that either. You really are a bad one aren't you. I bet you are the reason I haven't got rain in close to three months to. LOL.

For any of you that really don't know and are interested. A LGD barks at anything it isn't sure about. It has to learn what is ok and what is a danger. It barks to allert it's master that something is out of the ordinary. When I say master, I mean the human in charge or the head Guard dog. It is a sentinal reporting in to the commanding officer for orders. The sounds of the barks are as different at the cries of a child. A mother can tell on the first or second squalk as to whether the child is hurt, mad, scared or whatever. Dogs barks are the exact same. They communicate with each other.
In the past week my daughters Pyraneese has saved the goat herd from loose dogs 5 times by barking an alarm and then giving protection until my daughter got out there with a gun. Three of the dogs bothering the goats won't bother anyone again. My neighbors are smart enough to know that my dogs are protectors and have mentioned how glad they are I have them. They know my dogs barking in the night mean someone might be messing around their own houses. Which has been the case on more than one occasion.

Actually mom it was 4 times but you are right about them not bothering anyone anymore. I wouldnt want a dog that wouldnt bark at things. It keeps ya on your toes. ( By the way harrisjnet is really my mom )

tsdave, please tell me how I am supposed to keep goats frpm bleating, cows from mooing, horses from neighing, roosters from crowing etc. I am sure everyone here would like an answer. My life is enjoyable from the farm sounds. It is the sound of living in the country.
And lets not forget the sound of the frogs in the pond.

Pyrnad, What has your lawyer said about the leach field? If you allow them to leave it as long as it is working right, will they be able to claim the land as theirs? After 20 yrs or whatever?
Here we also have drainage problems. There are regular septics with leach fields that do work due to the extra amount of lateral lines, but it takes quite a bit of land. Some folks use a type of system that uses a lagoon to let evaporation get rid of the water and have to have their tanks pumped out every two years or so. And some have the aerobic type that uses the water for irrigation as I mentioned in a previous post. We also have some that use a big holding tank and it is pumped out as needed.
You said they no longer allow the pump out type. I have mentioned several that require pumping of some kind. Are they all outlawed there? Are they outlawed by Local, State or Federal Authorities? If it is local or state, your neighbors may be able to get a waiver for a system. I know it isn't really your problem, but since you are on the receiving end of their waste, it is something to look into for a solution to a nasty situation.
