Chuck is it possible to fix a thread so that only one person, in this case prynad could post? That way we could keep up with what is going on without having to wade thru all the infighting.
Thanks

I can spell this out at the most elementary level. I am surprised everyone doesn't remember that childhood lesson. Do you remember when you were a kid and everyone played nice. Then it turned to bopping each other on the head with it until someone was on the losing end of the deal. Your parent comes along and takes the toy, much to the astonishment of the children involved (except the one receiving the most bops). Complaining and whining ensues.
There was no more constructive play in that thread, someone was being bopped repeatedly and it was becoming painful to watch. The toy was removed. Time to entertain yourselves with a new toy (aka thread).

Y'know, everytime that I volunteer for a job I DO the job instead of complaining about it or taking the easy way out, so... if the moderators are volunteers then why can't they DO the job and moderate instead of taking the easy way out and deleting instead of blocking the members that get out of hand? Is there some fear that you may look like you are taking sides?

Jnap, when do you get to come home. I do hope you find a way to post when you get back. I am sure we will all enjoy hearing about your farmstead as you get it back up and running.

I don't entirely disagree, but no matter what they do it's a thankless job. They gotta be able to use the hammer now and then, and they shouldn't have to explain their actions if they don't want to. After all, it's not like every little post is a gem that needs to be treasured forever. Nice new thread direction though.
Moderators need to use moderation, but only in moderation.

Because, taken with the information given out on the various bad neighbor threads, we now know that there is a convenient parking lot where a car can be left without drawing attention near her house, that the neighbors are accustomed to the dogs barking, that there are valuable dogs in the fields and guns at the house, where the security system is...
Enough already. The bad guys don't all foam at the mouth and even if they did, you can't see it while they're typing.

LOL
I'm sure the cyberstalkers left last night if that was their intention....I'd like to remind them of the surveilance cameras...give us a godd smile ok?
And...
I'm also sure if they had any plans to side up w/ the neighbors...the neighbors would be too ignorant to understand the person was only trying to help/be nice...
I was trying to get the webcam but its apparently offline

Okay lets look at the root words in the name Farmington.....what word do you see?
Maybe that should be everyone's first CLUE.....

Different guy. Totally different guy.
This is an older fellow that built his own cabin and filmed it all.
I watched it on PBS. Is that the guy?

I know it seems that way but that is not the case. I have been a forum mod on one forum or another for many years. It is a hard thing to decide to close a popular tread but some times you just have to. Not because it is popular but because some people just do not understand how to stay nice. But then the nice ones a lot of times can not understand why just a couple of bad ones gets to ruin their fun. Well like many laws the many have to get punished because of the few :-( I have no clue what the mod rules are here, But on most forums if a topic starts to get out of hand then closing the tread is what to do. If it has gotten real bad then banning the bad ones is also done. But the tread chances are has already went way to far by the time that has happened. Sure the mod could take the time to go threw the tread to delete just the bad stuff. But well 99.9% of forum mods do the job for free and they do not want to spend hours doing that sort of thing every day. Trust me on a forum like this one that gets a lot of post every day being a mod on it is a big job most of the time. They need to read every post on the forums to make sure things are staying ok. They get many private messages a day as well as emails asking questions they they need to reply to. I quite being a mod for one game/forum because it was turning into way to much work. I was spending 5+ hours a day just replying to pm and emails. I do not know about anyone else but if I am spending that much time working I need to be getting something for it besides just being able to call myself a mod.
Sure helping people is great but a limit has to be set by every mod on just how much they can do.

I think it's amazing that a thread "about a thread being locked" is still just about the most popular thing there is on this site right now!

I have a suggestion, not knowing if it would work. But would it be possible for the moderator to put up a Sticky Thread that only Pyrnad can post to? Possibly allow the forum to vote if this special consideration should be extended?
Likely a dumb idea, but I agree totally with the dropping of the thread, folks only need to express issue once and not get obsessed with it, was way out of hand!
