Those of us rooting Pyrnad on are just tired of having people move in and then complain about the everyday life of the farm they willing moved in next to.

Argh. Reminds me of the maroons who bought houses in a brand new housing tract - across from a Dairy Farm. Can't miss the cows grazing just across the road. They move in because they're looking for "peaceful country life", or whatever concept they had in their brain, and then start complaining about the smell of the cows, and try and get the farm to move. Sheeeeesh.

I can't say I know what the dogs there sound like. But if no one else has complained for 11 years, some even remarking on the relative "quietness" of her farm - that, coupled with the neighbors threatening to shoot dogs, surveyors, and maliciously cutting down trees, I tend to think that it's neighbors who are hard to get along with, not pyrnad.

So then her ---- pile will stink and have too many flies too much and she shouldnt have so many goats/calves/pigs chickens....she is zoned for farming.....

My goodness some of you folk out to know that my two roosters make more noise then 6 dogs on a day to day basis...

The neighbors can by earplugs, pinch their noses, and SHUT UP!

I agree once again that those who move into our areas need to remember this is not the city or a burb, but we can act responsibly and help the "getting along" process. I am not rooting against anyone and her neighbors sound like jerks to me but the"dog issue they may have a point. Thats all I am saying

Okay, Qwispea, I have to finally ask. Did Pyrnad turn you down for a date? I can see no other reason for your persistence in following her from thread to thread virtually calling her a liar. If you don’t agree with her actions, fine. If you have doubts about her story, fine. But what’s with the stalking?

C'mon, folks!
This thread is turning increasingly nasty and it just doesn't make any sense. Everybody has different experiences with country life depending on their location and situation. Let's have a Coke and a smile and relax!!!

It will be very interesting. I have talked with my lawyer about this and I will be seeing him on monday. I really do not need this now, but I will have to deal with it.
I will update when I know more. I am very busy on the farm.
Please keep good thoughts sent this way.
I missed the entire thread on this to begin with. But from what I've read just in this post it sounds as if your neighbors gave you crap, and now they are getting it back. No pun intended.
It reminds me of the exact or almost exact situation my parents had when I was growing up. We lived in a small town where houses were only twenty feet apart from each other. My parents house and the building next to us use to be one property therefore use to share the one septic system. At some point our house had a new septic system put in the front of the house and the one in the back between the house and the building was left for the other building's septic. Although we just had our kitchen sink, and washing machine discharge into it. At another point in time the guy who orginally owned the property seperated the property in two and sold both seperatly. My parents had bought the property after that.
Anyway, the septic that was shared failed and the guy who ended up owning the building argued that we had to pay for the septic because it was on our land therefore was our septic. Was he surprised when the board of health told him it was HIS RESPONSIBILITY, and because it was on our land my parents had every legal right to fill it with cement in turn would leave him with no septic at all. He didn't even have any land to put one on as the footprint of the building was on the entire piece of a very small parcel. My parents greatly considered filling it with cement after the way the guy treated them, but after he heard what the BOH said, he was really full of sugar and spice.

Can you spell ESCALATE? I don't think all is being told here. REDNECK is as REDNECK does.

Of course she did that is why she GOT the dogs in the first place!!!! She raises goats, milks them, makes cheese, that is her livelyhood!! The dogs protect her livelyhood. Do you know that that means suitcase-sally??

It is a working farm the new neighbors knew that before they bought the property. They bought it anyway, then they wanted to change everything.
I'm glad that the things that have happened to them have happened. I cant wait to see Pyrnad get all the $$ and whetever that is due ot come her way, and see these neighbor disappear.

By the way there have been no other complaints from other neighbors.

Move my burn barrels or compost pile, tsdave? No way, sweetie, They are sited for my convenience looong before any neighbors moved in, are in plain sight to be easily seen. Design and site your house to be upwind/out of sight/range, or don't buy the property, or don't complain to me later about them.

wow...interesting debate going on. One thing that most people have forgotten about is the law of "quiet enjoyment" of your property. It is a all-encompassing law that is written into every property contract I have ever witnessed. It is a very old law too. Regardless of who was there first, last, bigger, smaller, working farm or not...there is an obligation to act reasonably and allow quiet enjoyment. 17 barking dogs (not even sure what the actual number is) is not reasonable...protecting a flock or not. Cutting down a neighbors tree...again, not reasonable. A burning barrel up against a neighbor's fenceline in plain view of their new house...probably not considered reasonable to keep it there. What comes around, goes around and sometimes it is you and I that get what we deserve. I live in an area with more predators than anyone in Maine I can tell you that. We have livestock as do many many friends and neighbors and I know of nobody with guardian dogs other than collies. Why not be reasonable and get a gaurdian Llama and get rid of the nuisance of dogs barking throughout the night...or why not get rid of 16 of the dogs (or whatever the number is above 1)? Everyone acting reasonably would have avoided this conflict completely...I wonder how many years of life have slipped away with the stress that this has caused. Too bad.

We are territorial and social animals, which is usually what the nipping and barking is all about.
Thus the popularity and controversy of this thread, and it's predecessors.
I am surprised that there is not more books and movies based on land disputes.

As i have said in another thread on this topic, I dont know Pyrnad, and i dont live near her. I dont wish her failure. I hope she succeeds in living a happy life.

My only points are:

1) Too many people are getting too much enjoyment from her neighbors misery.
2) Pyrnad should keep her dogs as quiet as possible to her neighbors.
3) Pyrnad hasn't made extra ordinary effort to ease tensions with her neighbors.
4) Her neighbors were obviously screwed out of their house, money, and peace by their deal. Be it on their own ignorance or not, i pity them more than her.

Pyrnad didnt sell them the lot (did she ? did she own it before they did ?) She told us it has a bad structrue, bad well, bad septic system, 17(+?) dogs next door. They probably paid a premium for it as well.

I do have a few questions for pyrnad if she wishes to answer them, such as :

1) How many goats do you raise ?
2) Do you spend more on your dogs than the goats are worth ?
3) Do you make more money selling dogs than raising goats ?
4) Did you know the condictions of the lot before they moved in, did you tell them ?

17 dogs are expesnive out the wazoo to take care of.

So what if a guy gets a goat, then tells his neighbors to kiss off about his 36 barking dogs, cause they are now LGDs ???

And this deal with the septic , Why is the septic theirs ? If they didnt "buy" it with their property , and they didnt put it in, then how are they liable ?

So many parts of this story dont pass the smell test. Im not even saying that pyrnad willfully lied about her side, people see things differently from differnt vantage points.

According to her so far, she has made no mistakes relating with these people ? She did everything right, they did everything wrong ? I dont remember her telling us where she realizes she went wrong ?

C'mon, folks!
This thread is turning increasingly nasty and it just doesn't make any sense. Everybody has different experiences with country life depending on their location and situation. Let's have a Coke and a smile and relax!!!

Calico Katie,

I'd ask you to show me where I've called Pyrnad a liar ..but I know you can't!!!!!

Asking questions about conflicting statements is not calling somebody a liar. Its merely asking questions ..in order to understand what really is the truth. Unfortunately ..for that I have been called names and been told I suck.

Oh ..I do agree with you about this thread getting increasingly nasty. But if you would examine the "nastiness" for yourself ..you'd soon discover that its only a few Pyrnad supporters getting increasingly nasty. Indeed, during the past few hours ..several of Pyrnad's supporters have increasingly resorted to nastier and nastier name-calling. To those who have sunk to that level ..I only hope you're all having yourself a ball!

Calico Katie ..This is an open forum! I've been involved in this discussion almost from the beginning ..so I'm not stalking anybody! As you should well know ..I have just as much right to offer my opinions here as anybody. From the beginning of this 'drama' ..I had had nothing at all against Pyrnad. But now ..especially during the past 16 hours or so when some people started calling me names and telling me I suck ..I'm not so sure anymore how I feel about Pyrnad. I do know its impossible to believe everything we've been told ..because parts of it flat-out contradict other parts. Yes ..I could give you examples of the contradictory comments ..as I've already done that! But sadly ..some of Pyrnad's supporters completely ignored those facts!
Anyway ..unlike some people ..I can read and discern for myself. It wasn't me who said Pyrnad "borrowed a goat just for fun" ..it was Pyrnad who said that!!! Strangely, ..a bit later mpillow came on here and provided a completely different version ..yet some people competely swallowed mpillow's version as if that was the version of truth ..while completely ignoring Pyrnad's own words!!
Its so clear what's going on here ..its a puzzle how anybody could honestly miss it!!!

Clearly ..it now appears ..that in this topic ..whenever something isn't fully understood ..we're simply not supposed to question it!!!! And if somebody feels its a bit cruel in the way evil has being wished against Pyrnad's neighbors ..we're simply supposed to just shut our lips and not post anything in disagreement!
I think its very clear exactly what's going on here!

Just for the "open-record" Calico Katie ..will you please go back and find all the name-calling in this entire thread? Surely ..you will discover that ..those of us who have disagreed with some things ..or who have asked questions about some of the blatant discrepencies ..aren't the ones calling other people names. The name-calling is all coming from a few of the Pyrnad supporters. Look for yourself! Its only a few Pyrnad supporters who have resorted to calling people names ..and nobody else!
It is so obvious what's going on here!!!!

I'll tell you ..none of us have done anything deserving of the attacks by some of Pyrnad's supporters. Sure ..we've asked questions and/or disagreed with some of what we've read ..but that is not deserving of the name-calling attacks. At least I can truthfully state that I haven't called anybody a name.

To be sure, some keep on claiming that this thread is on the verge of ruin. But you know what??? It isn't us! It is NOT us!!!!!
Its clearly just a few Pyrnad sheeple who would have this thread ruined! This thread started getting hostile only when some people started attacking us for asking questions and/or for us disagreeing. That might explain what kind of people some here are ..and perhaps makes it easy to understand how so many can wish so much evil upon Pyrnad's neighbors whom most don't even know!!! Even I didn't understand at first ..but now it is so transparent.

Well ..I've had my say ..and now I'm going to slither out of here with my tail tucked between my legs in defeat. Not because I feel I was in the wrong ..but because of the name-calling attacks. I've had it with the name calling ..and I just can't stand the evil some are wishing against Pyrnad's neighbors. Because of some of the evil I've seen here ..I now feel more sorry for Pyrnad's neighbors than I do Pyrnad.

I'll still be watching ..and waitiing ..to learn when Pyrnad takes those people's home away from them. I'll be sure to pray for her neighbors.

Unbelievable... 10,409 views and 172 responses. This has turned from a pyrnad venting thread, to a bashing party on her and each other. Come on folks, lighten up.

Have you not gardens and critters to tend to? Have you nothing better to do than sit in your chairs and bash pyrnad and each other?

I've been following this thread, as I can, and can't believe it's more like a "general chat" all out bashing fiasco/boxing match rather than a "homesteading questions" thread. Bad neighbors get what is Due - Homesteading Questions

I hope pyrnad starts a new thread if she sees fit to update us.

This "bashing" is about moral issues. Honestly, I wouldn't want to live next to either pyrnad or her neighbors. I would never buy a house directly next to a farm with that many animals, especially the dogs. Now she's about to release a bunch of guinees along with the "borrowed donkey just for fun."

It's pyrnads revenge and the supporters of the revenge thats feuling the fire, not what she's venting about.

I'll pray for both sides.

And there's 3 sides to every story, not 2. Side A, Side B and the REAL truth.
