I never had cats before; but have been having problems with too many mice; so decided to get one. Yes, we went for one and brought back two! Two kittens 6 weeks old and eating solid food. We put them in the rabbit cage with food, water and liter box, taking them out frequently for social interaction. (We fed them "slightly clabbered" milk every other day as this type of milk does not upset their system.) We kept our grown shepherds with them, watching all closely when kittens were let out of cage. We were quite concerned about the dogs eating them; then got concerned about the kittens hurtting the dogs. rofl
Now, our kittens are almost old enough for all their shots and to be spade. (Both are females and love each other. We are so glad we brought home two instead of one kitten. One is a calico with green eyes; other looks persion being solid white with grey tail and tips of ears and grey strips on legs.) We keep their food, water and liter box outside and that is what they use all the time. They love their food (mixed with warm water) and eat with the dogs too, though oldest dog growls if they try to get what she wants. (Fed all 4 together last night with left over steak bones, meat and gravy and was so funny watching them eat together.) Took a video of calico playing with youngest shepherd (alpha female) and thought for sure dog was going to eat her at any moment; but they just enjoyed each other. Guess we keep them!
