Thanks Cyngbaeld! I've actually done a LOT more since those photos - finished removing the debris of the two houses on our city lots (all by hand - yikes!). And we got bunnies, so I'm finally raising some of our own meat!

It took a lot of backbreaking work to make the beds, terrace the hillside, and remove old house debris, but totally worth it! Best of luck!

Here's a few pics of my efforts:

Where there is a will ...

We too are in a nonfriendly to polutry urban area. So we do the bunny thing. Tuth be known I'm not real good with non-commerical meat products like venison & home grown pork ect. But DH & children are so there is still quite a savings. Our eggs come from a fellow homesteadingtoday'er nearby.
Even if we didn't raise/barter any meat items our gardening efforts on our less than 1/14 an acre enable us to have on average < $100 a month grocery bill.
Again great urban homestead landscaping !

Orginally the blog started as a way to give me a push - to stop the procrastating on various projects like the restore/upgrade of my ice box.
Now it's a way to help me learn fugal homesteading skills in a challenged environment.
