My congrats too. We finally relocated to WY only to miss the availability of the land we wanted by a week! Sooo, looking again. Sigh.

Let's start a guessing-pool bout how long we think they will last before relocating. Put me down for 3 years.

Ooh, Jan, 3 years is a good guess. Long enough to get affairs in order and move without killing yourself, but no longer.

Can I guess 3 years and a day? LOL

Exclamation Unoccupied land

If you plan to put some kind of building up on your land before you move out to it full-time, you might want to get to know your neighbors all around you as well as you can, and hope they can keep an eye on the place for you. Any place that isn't lived in might get "visited" eventually by thieves and vandals. It took them years to get around to my place, but they finally found it and started stealing stuff and vandalizing things.

It's a good idea to think about having problems with thief and vandals. We plan to put up a small one room cabin and a little outhouse this fall. But we will not leave anything in it once we head back home. We found out where the local sherriff is and plan on talking with him while we're out there as well. When we were looking in other places before settling on this piece of land we had talked to the a local sherriff and he said to check with the local police no matter where we bought.
