posi -- I'd trust you in any circumstance...and really would appreciate your letting Gail know when and where

We haven't heard from Dar2be (spelling?)...aka Carol ... I'm hoping you will be able to make it this time also. I still have a collection of tennis balls that my puppies play with so I think of you often.

Corky and Milt - ya'll been too busy and gardening to post?

We also need to let Joe and Shelia know where and when -- hopefully, they and Bethie can make this one too.

Only 91 more days to go....

Hugs
marlene

RE: Campout

My gal and I really want to attend this upcomming campout, but this time I'm not going to say for certain that we'll be there. Circumstances arose which kept us from attending the last one, so please put us down as a definate maybe. (we'll try our darnest to be there.)

When I told my gal about the fall campout, she got real excited. We both regret missing the first one, so the prospect of the fall trip makes us that much more anxious. Hopefully, we can get there a few days early to relax and check out the scenery. BTW, those are great pics............looks like a beautiful area.

Nothin' like sitting by a campfire, having a coffee and a smoke. (it's what I do best) We can't wait to meet you folks. Sounds like a good time will be had by all.

Paul

I'm fine with no rules-I just didn't want to be the only 'laid back' one when everyone else was following some strict regimen. Sharing meals sounds like a fun way to really get to know the rest of the group; I'm looking forward to meeting you and everyone else!

Looking forward to seeing you there.

P.S. I was once signing up recruits for rules and procedures and lots of planning and schedules...4 years into it...and I'm pretty much given up and joined the crowd.

KyGuest..Marlene, is just about the only one who can hardly be laid back................ She has tried for a long time now, to get us to follow a time frame/list thing....but guess our independant natures kinda got in the way...................

Tramp - now you just gotta come...you wouldn't want to disappoint your Lady twice in the same year now would you? Seriously, hope ya'll can make it.

Okay, I'll admit it LaDonna -- it's kind of silly to hope for others to follow a schedule, and follow a few rules, when they have make their life's work being as self reliant and independent as possible. Then add on top of that my desire to have as diverse a gathering as possible...and I'm kind of defeating my own purpose on the schedule and rules idea. Just have the courses of my meals ready as close together as possible, and let me hope for a good nights sleep and I'm happy...honest.

Don did you get to check out Steele Creek yesterday? We were near there...noted lots of people with lots of water sports equipment (aka canoes/rafts and such) attached to their vehicles. Just hope it isn't as popular after Labor Day or LaDonna and I might have to go a week early to stake a claim.

Only 90 or is it 89 days to go )

Hugs

Marlene we went this morning. Beautiful area! If we all camp close to the end of the campground we could just about "own" that area. Bathrooms just across the road.

We came by to get you for lunch today but no one was home!

There ARE picnic tables and fire rings. Actually, for Sunday about noon, there weren't that many people there. Hopefully the weekend after Labor Day it'll be cleared out. To get to that area, turn left where you see the horse camping area on the right. Follow the road to the left at that intersection and it'll take you right there.

Thanks Dennis - I've been there once with Ladonna - have no idea why we didn't check out the camping area -- guess that was when we were in riding around checking out the scenes mode? Once with hubsband -- I wanted to show him the river over on the south? or is that west side? by camping with horses...and once when I went to show my sister -- you would think I would atleast once follow the signs to "camping" -- guess it'll be a surprise.

Only 87 more days to go...

Hugs

Sorry, Dennis, we still have to wait 81 more days.

Then when the days have gotten a little cooler, and these Ozark hills are still dark green with all the plants and trees, and there are still wild flowers blooming along the roadways, and the Buffalo is running a little cooler, and others are pretty much done with family outings and vacations...

We can set up our tents, and our comfy chairs, build a little campfire, prepare some fine eats, or just have a cold or hot drink of our choice and get down to some very serious relaxing and talking to others of like minds about the wonder of homesteading....

Hugs,
Marlene

We began the conversion of the goat dairy barn into a house on Saturday!
You just don't realize how much stuff you have until you start clearing it out of the way.
And, y'all know how it goes, once you get started the excitement level keeps building, and the adrenaline gets flowing, and we just could not stop ourselves!! Worked all day, took a supper break and watched a little TV, then poured ourselves a cocktail and sat out in the barn and admired what we had done. We almost wanted to sleep out there last night!
then we just HAD to get on the computer and search for our doors and windows.
The really nice part will be when we are finished, we will not be in debt up to our eyeballs, paying for it as we go!
There will be pictures as we progress!
We work together so well, we read each other's thoughts and know the next move to make to compliment what the other is doing. It is wonderful. As we have said a thousand times, it's about our ---- turn!!!

hey guys! We just happen to have a free 36" glass storm door. You just have to come get it.
Milt just brought it home from KC thinking it would fit our door.
Way too big. our door is 32 ".

It's about time you got with the program. You are like Milt. It took him 7 years to build that green house for me.

Russell, surely not you! I am just sure you have everything done just like she likes it right after she asks.
Thats because I know you love her and would do anything for her. Right???
By the way! Thanks for telling me all about your new spinning wheel!
