Nope Corky, I just read his post myself Actually, since he was here first, and I met him online, he might think it interesting that I would tell someone the Buffalo River attracted me to this area. ...Let's see how would that work...I fell in love with the Buffalo River and then I found a man who lived near it...nay it's the other way around

Our company from South Louisiana left early this morning, I hope they enjoyed their visit as much as I did. It sure was nice having neive Tina/Rannie and her family here to help entertain them.

Yesterday morning, while Rannie and family were at church, Noah and I took, my twin Darlene, her husband Charles and their daughter (my neice) to Lost Valley...it was a lovely hike. There wasn't any water running in Lost Creek, but there was a trickle at the spring/cave/would be waterfall part. Since there was not much water running though it we were able to climb up though that section to meet the trail at the top. Hopefully, some of us will be able to do the hike while at our campout out at Steel Creek in September.

Speaking of which, was given the honor of driving my sister's new car, while brother-in-law road with Noah in our truck...and on the way back we got separated (there are two ways from our house to there)...so I took a short side trip to show Darlene and Carolyn the Buffalo River at Steele Creek -- they were awestruck, since I knew the guys would be looking for us I didn't take the time to drive over to the group camping site as I was hoping to do.

Only 101 days to go....

Hugs
marlene

Marlene, is Noah OK? I mean...... he had to spend the weekend with TWO Marlenes!
Ok... so one of them is a Darlene but still.... that is just too close for comfort!

All kidding aside, I saw a cool show on FRDTV yesterday. All about cooking in cast iron over an open fire. Great stuff! aparently it is a weekly show. I will have to try to catch it again. I want one of those rods with all the diferent length hooks on it. As AAron Tippon said, "for high, medium, low, simmer and off.

When I thanked Noah for being such a great host all weekend...he said "Yes, I survived." -- Actually, he was only kidding, we all had a great visit. He and Karl like to tease Tina and I about our like ancestoral linage traits....you can imagine how much fun they had with three of us to pick on. I swear you've never seen three men grinning so much over the very idea that they were not alone in this world!

I'm not sure if it's the same cooking show Corky, but I have watched one where they have a covered outdoor fireplace set-up with all the "in my dreams" stuff ... I would do all my cooking out there all year round if I had a set up like that.

Only ...100 days to go folks...

Marlene

Marlene, I would really like to build me a "summer" kitchen, so that I can cook in the warmer weather.... I know, you don't think I can cook too much...but I can...and when I get a real kitchen I will just have to show ya'll how I can cook......I would also like a real wood oven...not like my little two burner...but one with a REAL oven in it...as I love to bake bread, cinammon rolls, etc....
urban farmer, I don't know much about buying land for homesteading, but if you like being in da woods....the Buffalo is the place to be...or rather, somewhere around it... In warm weather, the river itself, is very populated, as are most campgrounds....

I hope you'll be joining us in a commitment ceremony between Don and I. Attendance isn't mandatory at the fall campout, not what it's all about, but we'd sure enjoy your company and good wishes.

I'm sooooo happy for you guys!! I've been hoping this would come to be! --Steele Creek is going to be a wonderful backdrop for this wonderful event.

Speaking of Steele Creek - Ladonna do you think you could post a couple of those pics here so everyone can get a little taste of what it looks like there?

Hugs

By the way, do you think Noah would wear the "I believe in Fairies T shirt if he attends?
I know that made you uncomfortable that he'd wear that in public. And from what I know of Noah, he's not automatically in "favor" of gay issues. When Noah wore that
t shirt for my benefit, I could have hugged him. But alas, I'm not the hugging kind but I think he could tell by my countenance that I really appreciated it. Hope so anyway.

Can I wear flowers in my hair? And play my duclimer? -- Okay, even I know I shouldn't be asking to play by duclimer...but I might actually wear flowers in my hear...and I think everyone else should wear whatever they are comfortable wearing also

I must be counting incorrectly...I'm coming up with only 96 more days?

Hugs
Marlene
