I may be sadly mistaken here, and often am! But I THINK you can get AG tires for (some) riders. That might be quite helpful, no?

A smaller pickup truck is nice to have around...it's old and beat up already,so it's not such a big deal that it takes a beating. You can get old "ridge runner" cars and trucks for cheap around here...they're not pretty, though

I use my truck. The same truck I normally drive around in and commute to work with. Costs a whole lot less than buying some special thing just to drive around the farm. Does more too!

We purchased an old (1988) dodge ram pickup. No insurance/no tags so it never leaves the farm. We thought about a 4 wheeler, but they were too expensive and let me tell you, the heater in the old dodge is mighty nice on a cold winter day if you're waiting for your goats to give birth.

For those who asked, I am just looking for something I can ride on to take the place of being able to walk everywhere I used to be able to walk. I have a badly broken knee and it is going to be months before I will be completely back to normal (hopefully!) We do have a fullsize truck when needed, but mainly I need to be able just to go back and forth to the barn and around the field with the dogs.
I would LOVE to use a pony cart, but it would be too much time and work to harness and unharness all the time, as I need to make trips several times a day. I don't think the pony would enjoy standing around in harness all day

I used to use an old F-250 Ford pickup, stick shift, but it croaked. My second son could fix it but he works 10 hours a day at Cat. (sp) and I wouldn't want to bother him.

In know that with a diesel engine, it will last forever.

We just got one of those this winter. They are pricey though. My husband uses it to haul mulch for his lawn business and I use it too haul feed and water to the barn. It comes in really handy. Plus it is fun to use to go through the woods with too. The kids and I have a good time with it.

We also have a 4 wheeler that is 4 wheel drive. It belongs to my son, but he lets me use it whenever I want. Of course his Dad and I paid for most of it for Christmas a couple of years ago. He saved $1000 towards it. I wanted him to understand the cost of it and to take care of it. I feel when they pay for some of it and work for that money they take better care of things!

I find a 4x4 ATV is perfect for that type of thing. Small enough to maneuver through the trees and brush and rugged enough to deal with snow, extremely muddy and rough ground. it is also capable of hauling about anything I care to tow or haul with it. I find it much more comfortable that a JD Gator, Mule or golf cart type of vehicle but that's just me. Indispensable around here.

Keep your eyes open. You can sometimes find older honda ATVs cheap nd they run forever.
