The "Front Porch"...we know it well...we always make sure to eat there at least once each time we are down there, if not more!

I'll ask tonight when we are eating dinner there where that park is.

Thanks!

It was great til the fist fight

smile.. Just kidding we had more food then we knew what to do with it.. Met a few great folks.. Was nice to finally put a face to the nicknames..Oh and happy anniversary to everyone there.

Another shindig is planned for this fall..
This one will be at my place.. I am thinking it will be a day long event.. we were talking castiron cooking.. Maybe everyone instead of bringing premade dishes from home.. we could all cook our dish right here over a fire.. Baked cobblers and such in ducth ovens. I will make beans.. and cornbread in my dutch oven.
If my grapes are ready to pick , maybe we can have a jelly making party..juice or wine.. LOL

We had a great time!!!!

It sure was nice to meet everyone, and to put a face with a name. I don't think we could have asked for better weather.

It is too bad that we ran out of food so soon, LOL.

A big thank you to Momof4 for organizing the event, and thanks to those that assisted in helping out.

I really enjoyed meeting everyone....ericjeeper-I can't wait to see your solar heat system....liveonland...momof4....taylor....wish we could have spent more time talking and learning about one another.

Again, thanks so much. We had a fun time Saturday.

As already said, it was great putting faces with names!!!

We had great weather, not too hot, no rain. The park was beautiful. Sorry I had to leave a little early to take my kids to the falls... They are planning another trip this summer to McCormick's Creek for horseback riding and playing in the falls again!

I would be more than happy to post some pics, but my digital camera took a swan dive into the falls after we left the picnic!!!! We searched for it for 20 minutes, since it decided it would be best to fall into rushing water 2 ft. deep. We finally gave up, and the kids swam for about a half hour. As we left, I said I wanted to check one more time. I put my hand under the water, and picked it up, first try!! It's still drying out, since it was under water for almost an hour before we found it. DH said it's electronic, and will dry out and work again, but I have very little faith. I am hoping that the card dries out so I can get the pics, even if I have to buy a new camera. I'll keep you all posted!

We did go see "the limb" at the Worthington park...that thing was HUGE!! We also ventured out (and got lost for about an hour) to see the viaduct in Greene County...beautiful countryside! If my roots weren't so deep here, I'd live down there in a heartbeat! The viaduct is amazing! We took a hike to the top at the edge of the valley, and the view was astounding!

Thanks to everyone who made it, and I hope everyone else can be there in the fall. I am very much looking forward to the fall get together at EricJeeper's place! Can't wait to see it!

I forgot...just have to share this. On the way there Saturday, the girls were asking me what picnic we were going to. I told them it was the homesteaders potluck, and they wanted to know what a potluck was and what homesteaders were. I told them all the things we do (and want to do) as homesteaders. My step-daughter says, "oh, so it's amish-ish?" So they called it the "amish-ish picnic"...
