I walk to work. It takes about 10min. I'm really sorry for all of you that have to drive on crowded highways with crazed drivers that are all trying to get in front of the car in front of them.I listen to the birds, say hello to the neighbors, & talk to the neighborhood dogs & the kids.Since I've been walking to work for 23yrs, most people know me.It is actually unusual enough that someone chooses to walk to work that some in the neighborhood probably see me as eccentric. My wife works about 10min away by car.I can't imagine having a commute to work that is stressfull & expensive. I did that once upon a time, & I moved to this neighborhood so that I wouldn't have to do that any more.

My wife and I walked every day when I was home atleast 2 miles for the exercise and we often had people stop to offer us rides before they realized we did not need one. Are neighbors one of which is on insulin for diabetes take their trucks or 4 wheelers to go 50 feet and hunt deer from the roads they think we are starnge for walking LOL

For me it is about 1/2 hr to the office. But since I'm a contractor salesman for a lumberyard, work starts the minute I turn my phone on. I usually drive about 3000 miles a month covering the Thumb of Michigan. On the upside, it is a company owned truck and they pay for the gas. On the downside, well, there is no downside. It's a family owned business, the owners a great to work for, I get to be outside every day doing a job that I really like

55 miles one way...generally takes about 1 hour 15 minutes.

I get paid a lot more and get better benefits working in the city and the cost of gas isn't high enough yet to make it worth taking a local job...if I could find one that is...

70 miles. Takes about an hour and a half. I work three 12-hour shifts per week and I stay over two nights in a motor home parked (and plugged in) at my work. So if I don't work an overtime day, I just drive it once a week. Not too bad. Hate being away from home though.
