Yeah Russell! That would do it!
Now..... you can put the wire in the fire to get it hot and then you can hold one end and Milton the other end..... Yeah that would probably work and it would be as much fun to watch as last time when we all helped untwist yarn. Remember?
Speaking of that... LaDonna, do you have the pictures of the last camp out?
We should all bring our pictures as I don't think any got posted on here.
What LaDonna was saying about the money is we usually pay there.

I can just picture it now....two vehicles for the batteries....long wire between them.....smoked styrofoam ham ......
I'll have to check and see if I have a recipe for chocolate cake....geeze can't you guys give me a challenge? Just teasing, I was wondering if anyone was going to get in a dessert order for Spring. Ladonna, you missed the test run of raspberry bars at Christmas...I might try another batch of those. I'm still trying to figure out Sue's secret recipe. Don and Dennis get back to me on hints for improvement okay?
Only...29 more days to go.....
Hugs
marlene
P.S. Ya'll stay safe from the storms coming into our area tonight.

Hello friends!! Just thought I'd check in to let you know we're still alive. Dennis is right that we're planning on being there for the day Saturday. I'll have to work Friday night and it's my day to teach Sunday School that Sunday. Guess I'll bring a banana pudding and maybe some of Big Joe's Barbeque for the potluck.
Bethany will be gone I'm sorry to say. This will be her first time away from home except for with grandparents or church camp. I'm excited for her but nervous for myself. I'm trying to get used to this letting go thing. It's not easy but I'm doing it. She's 15 years old today... hard to believe.
Looking forward to spending time with my old friends and meeting some new ones as well.

So glad you and Joe will get to atleast come spend Saturday with us Shelia...will miss Bethie. Would you ask her to please stop growing up so fast...hard to beleive she is already 15. Have you talked to sister Tina yet? Will she and her family be able to make it? Sure would be great to get to see them also. You know Shelia I was wondering if I sold a couple acres and spurged on a roast or something if Big Joe would be interested in using his thingy for roasting over a camp fire? If I promise to supply a nephew or friend or two to help him turn it??
Tell you what Ladonna...I'll have something with chocolate...and something with raspberries...and maybe something with both...and I'll stick a birthday candle in atleast one of them....that should cover it?
Don you are without a doubt a "keeper" --- a whole truck load of firewood on top of all your good qualities...life is good I tell you.
Only 28 more days....
Hugs

And yes.. you're right.. Don is a keeper for sure!!!! Where has he been all our lives??

Well Don, get used to it...cause these guys are some of the greatest folks on earth...Dennis and I were talking, I believe, after the first, maybe the second picnic, about how we stayed up all night[for two nights!] and talked about everything from politics, to religion, and all points in between, and disagreed, but there was not a cross word spoken....that's what I like! I like being around folks that I can listen to, and hopefully learn from....but not always agree on every little point............
Man, I'm starting to get jazzed about this!! I think Phoenix even knows it's close to time, as everyday when I leave for work, he just looks at me, very expectantly like he is supposed to be with me or something.........
Don, Thanks for the firewood....I won't bring any, unless it's really needed...I'm just going to use it for outside fires anyway....it's too big for my stove............the cats like climbing on it tho...........

ROFLOL! I was responding to this Thursday night when our neighbors showed up to let us know a twister was on the way! Since yurts are so good at slipping winds, though, I think I'll have to keep up the work on that. On the interesting side, DH had mentioned to his bible study group that we needed rain, and it rained - HARD - for the first time that week. We've had serious storms at least twice a week since then. I think I need have him tell them to back off the prayers a little

How about a wire hooked up to a pair of D cells or such? That's how we cut those camp pads (the blue ones) when we're fitting stuff into armor for our reenactment stuff. They're used to cut floral foam, but you could probably mock one up - basically the wire gets hot & it melts the foam as it goes through it. Just a thought . . .

Eric'll probably kill me for this . . . Alpaca? Mohair? Got tons of llama, but would really love to get my greasy little hands on some of that. Is he looking to sell, trade, give away?
Oh, and as far as the coffee goes, my housemate was given, like, three cans of hazelnut coffee at Christmas, and being an OTR driver, is never home to drink it - should I throw a can in? I'll happily throw in our coffee pot, but it'll probably be more for us tea drinkers - I am just _so_ much more cheerful after a cup of chai in the morning
Sorry for the ton of late replies, our internet was down for several days

Hey Corky i will pull out that recipe and get to work and slave over them there pralines sweetie just for you! Last year i forgot to buy pecans so I will go to town asap and get some. I'm kinda scared of the results, cause up here I can't seem to cook a pot of beans for the life of me. Pralines you know is like fudge if the air isn't right they won't turn. I am looking forward to visiting with everyone! Rannie

Hi all,
I'd love to be there, but I don't think I want to take any trips for a good while to come now that I'm finally in my Home Sweet Home, LOL! Hope you'll enjoy the weekend and have some extra goodies to munch on, and please make sure to take lots of pictures for those of us who'll be there only in spirit.
