I did one better than fake info, I'm using one I found. Hope they enjoy their additional purchase points toward cheap gas.
I use cash at the feed store, I don't think they would ask for all that info. Can you imagine the backlog in Wally World lines when they have to check id for pet food???? Yeah, that'll happen. At least I hope it doesn't happen.

Well, that will put me in a bind. The two feed stores I shop at are co-ops. I'm a member. Each purchase is recorded and at the end of their fical year I get a nice little check. Hmmm. what to do , what to do.

My old Chiropractor used to just trade those little key chain cars with everyone... It was a great way to mess with them... They want to keep track among other things to target the ads they send out.
The closest big store finally stopped using them...

Hello every one I am in Kosovo now and should have time to post again.I just learned about the NAIS program on the boards and researched there web site it is very scary stuff. When I get back to AR in a year and start my place back up it is going to be better than ever with dexter cattle, goats,Honey bees, rare poultry and everything inbetween.I will put everything I have into growing food to sell at the fayetteville farmers market.Sadly I am not willing to register my farm or animals though and put id chips in them. The moment it all becomes mandatory I am selling everything and moving to a free country perhaps in south america. It's a lot easier to pick breadfruit off trees anyway then dig potatoes, and the grass grows all year round lots of places down there.

Well, I'm the original poster, and, yes, that's MFA--Missouri Farmer's Alliance, Missouri. I never thought of giving false information---just figured I'd do my business elsewhere, but they did mention that Walmart would also have to get that information before the end of 2006. Sounded nutty to me, but I didn't think of asking to see the written requirements. Thanks for the feedback, folks, makes me better prepared for whatever is next--maybe. Somehow these things surprise me so!

Looks like its time for DH and I to incorporate the idea of growing our own feed. More work for us, but better for the animals in the end, anyway. We're lucky that we have the pasture acreage that we do.

I think that is the best solution to this, if this is true. I think it probably is, since we have been hearing other reports here of registration being required for animal feed. (I will do a search and post links to those topics if I can find them.)
Still, I hope it is not true.
Sofia
Edit: There was only one other thread: Registration of backyard chicken flocks See reply #24. That was also at MFA. Maybe it is just one feed store, at least for now?

we'l begin to grow our own feed and hay next year but what about vaccines and meds? There will always be something to register for. Sounds like prime black market stuff...

Back in the late sixties and early seventies a lot of us rebels would use Richard Nixon's Social Security Number when pushed by some jerk for our number. I remain less than interested in supplying mine to anyone for any reason.
Does anybody know W's SSN????

This problem will solve itself. Already as we speak catfood has gotten too expensive for us seniours to eat. So when you can't afford the cat food any more then it will be necessary to eat the cat. Then the neighbors cat, and he won't need cat food either. On and on it goes and soon there is no registration problem with cat food or cats for that matter.
Now there will be jobs lost when there is no more cat food to inspect, or cat food users to register. The cat food registration group will be laid off and want to eat cat food, but there will be none available. This will put pressure on other kinds of feed, as well as other kinds of animals. They will starve to death, the unemployed government workers that is, and the problem will be solved for them.
