Keep the shaker type flashlights away from ELTs. I remember reading about one of them setting off an ELT it was in the same pack with which had the coast guard or someone searching all over of it.

I buy the small shakers for 3.00 each. The biggest problem is the switch going out. Some will not turn on, others will not turn off. Other than that, I like them fine. At that price, I can stand for one in twenty to go bad.
Also, I have never had to shake one. Normal use seems to let the weight move back and forth enough to keep them charged.
