Got snow when I woke up. Stayed in bed till noon. Messy, trees still have their leaves, falling off with big plops. Dog did not like it on the morning walk. Looks like it won't hang around long, melted on many spots. I definitely did not want snow in October. Come to think of it I don't want it in November, December, January, February, March or April either. A few days next May will do just fine.

We had snow and sleet here on Saturday. Melted right away. I hope it holds off, there's a lot of crops yet in the fields.

Well, we've had rain for the last three weeks here with one day of a little sun. Alot of wind too. Good weather for chili and spaghetti and hot coffee or tea. The woodstove is keeping the house nice and warm too.

Hmmm, is he going to Syracuse by any chance? Bro had a test Mon in pharmocology too. No snow for us, just rain, rain, rain! I'll start checking ark building supplies tomorrow.

We now have about 8" of the heavy, wet stuff and it's still spitting down. It said on the news tonight the we could get 2-3" more! Schools were closed today and were already called off for tomorrow. A lot of people are without power and there's downed trees everywhere. My poor old hickery tree isn't going to look the same, it's already lost 3 big limbs and more are touching the ground. I went out and tried to shake some of the snow off the ones that were touching the ground, I just hope that it'll be enough to keep them from snapping too. (someone please tell me this isn't a sign of the winter to come)

We're in northeastern VT, and we've already got about 7". It's still coming down hard, about 11:10pm right now . We're supposed to get snow until noon tomorrow or later. We lost power for a couple of hours earlier. The heat dropped six degrees in the hour we didn't have our furnace on. Luckily, when we got home I had cranked up the heat (I'm coming down with something and have had the chills the past couple days), so the house got to almost 70 before the power went out the first time. It kept coming on and off, so we turned the furnace off so as not to blow the motor. Turned the hot water heater off too (I hope I remember to turn it back on in the morning!) God forbid if the power goes out any longer than an hour.

They're saying 12" + in some areas around here. I'll probably be going to work later tomorrow, since we'll need to snowblow the driveway! I'm not ready for snow like this yet! We haven't stocked up on anything. We were going to pick something up on the way home for dinner, but the store we planned to stop at didn't have any power, and I didn't have any cash ! Gotta remember to start keeping a $20 in my glovebox for such emergencies. I'll post again in the morning--if we have power.

We have been getting rain here for 3 weeks with NO break at all. Yard is beginning to take on water, but not oo much. Ditches cannot drain fast enough and they were freshly cleareed this fall. I hate this! The snow central NYS got was north of me, in "north country" as they call it here.
I am in smack dab central on the south side of Oneida Lake.

We need some wind now to get rid of some of this water.......

No, he's at Binghamton University.

We ended up with 4 or so inches of wet, sloppy mess. The power did go out this morning but not for long. Include me in your ark, OK?

Stacy

Between the early snow and all the hurricanes this year, the weather is really getting strange.
