Your right Kelly. I feel really bad about this. I don't want to cause them more stress then they are already going through right now. Deep down I know we are not going to get back together. If we were he would have been calling me over this past year. But nothing. I'm going to go ahead and let her set it up as she planned and I'll stay out of the way as much as possible. But I will keep a smile on the whole time.

Lisa, the dress is very beautiful, as is she. I wish her and her beloved a wonderful wedding day full of beautiful memories that will last a lifetime.

Wedding Pie

Back to the wedding pie, how is it served? The displays I've seen are beautiful but is the pie served inidvidually as guests come through the line or is it already plated? I'd hate to see a table of plated pie slices oozing out over the plates. At the same time, not having them plated could be time consuming to serve. So, how do you serve pie for a group of perhaps 150-200 people?

My daughter's wedding will only have about a hundred guests, but I have no idea how the serving will be done yet. Luckily, we have some time to think about it!

At my friend Sarah's wedding on Sunday, they just placed a pie in a nice box and a pie slice on each table..people helped themselves, it worked great.

My daughter found her dress today! It suits her perfectly and she loves it. This is a bad picture but it has a kind of vintage look and is perfect for her country wedding.

she is gorgeous!!! the dress is gorgeous! reminds me a bit of my DD's dress. simple, yet so elegant. :)

I don't have time today to read thru all the posts, but my DD was married in a quaint little historical landmark church. then just family went on a dinner cruise along the river in the city. OH BOY did we have fun! everyone on the ship suddenly became our wedding guests..lol...dinner, dancing, wonderful! a week later we hosted a reception here, as it had to coincide with SIL's friends visiting from England. we transformed our garage (which is totally finished, with a bathroom, and huge, so it's a great party room) with tons of white lights. we have long countertops on two walls with many plugs, so food was no problem. we had pretty much any food you can think of in roasters plugged in! then tables set up on one side with a big dance floor in the middle. at night we had a bonfire, with lots of guests sitting around the fire. that party is legend in my family. :) we had so many people stay overnight....we folded up tables to make room for beds! best wedding reception ever. I'm excited for you!

DH#3 and I hosted a wedding for his son and GF. They were married in front of the arch at the entrance to my garden. Luckily the weather was perfect! The bride's talented family made all the food and a beautiful wedding cake. I made homemade French vanilla ice cream with milk from our cow and eggs from our chickens! I had to remember to turn the electric churn on at just the right time so it would be ready.

The bride and her bridesmaids came the evening before the wedding and cut flowers for her bouquet and table decorations. It was June, so we used a lot of snowball viburnum and dame's rocket. So pretty!

They were married in the early afternoon with a buffet luncheon after, and then all the young people stuck around for a bonfire on the hill later that evening. Some even brought tents and camped out (a good thing given the amount of drinking that went on, LOL). The bride and groom (who were living with us at the time) spent the night there and left for their honeymoon the next day.

We managed to keep all the livestock contained although we let our potbellied pig Spammy Jo out to mingle with the guests. She was quite charming and a great favorite with the children.

I wish I still had pictures, but they were all on my old computer which died, darn it!

I haven't looked at this thread for a while. Willow, with you around for flowers, florists would be put out of business. Wish you could help with Amanda's flowers!
This sounds like a great wedding. love the camping out thing.

My daughter chose the printing in pink and green and have the wedding website address on them. The invitations will be similar.
