Good Morning and please be gentle as a new owner in training with LSGDs. Our animals do not take kindly to strangers what so ever and we specifically trained them like that. Anything with or with out a pulse does not enter onto out property period. The animals plant them selves in the direct path and will not relent until I give the all clear. Like someone else said, the only way that changes is if they were to be rendered unconscious. With that being said could additional training be applied to remedy this situation?

Another thought is having more than 2. Yes LSGDs can be intimidating alone, but in a pack they are a force to be reckoned with from the sight alone.

Again, I am still learning so please be gentle.

Look at the bright side

You got your dogs back, that is whats most important. Do I agree with the shelter, (a little) they do have dogs to feed and rent and bills. You can put micro chip in the dog (they have specials around here sometimes as low as $15) with that you can run lifetime license in most states.
Everyone has a story and if you write it all down and send to the electric company, without a check they still shut your lights off.
I would suggest another dog that is not going to let people just take your dogs off.
Your dogs are home alive, that is the a blessing.

Spend a little money and have your dogs micro chipped. We had a little tiny pom stolen out of our yard it was my daughters dog. We got her back only because she was micro chipped thank goodness. Sadly she had been abused while in the care of the other people. She had cigarette buns, started to pee in fear every time approached. It was awful. Humans suck sometimes.
