I think you did your best. I hope she never asks you do do anything for her again. The woman is an idiot. You were being a good neighbor and watching her animals as favor. Who in their right mind leaves and animal just about ready to give birth? Just say no next time if there is a next time she asks you for anything.
Agriculture, there are no rules when it comes to goats. Goats have their own code they live by we humans are not privy to their code. I think they might worship Murphy's law.
