Come to think of it, my Saanens handle weather better than my Nubian. You can prove anything over a small enough sample, but hey, maybe there's some truth to it.

When I had Goats they could get in where they was dry and out of the wind. Water was close by and never had a problem with them not drinking.

LOL! My Nubians can be fairly dramatic when it comes to snow (any weather, for that matter), but once they see the wethered Boers head out for feed, they high-tail it to the trough. Too funny to watch as they try to outpace the shorter goats in their effort to make sure they get their Fair Share.

Rocky, you need to get yourself some goats again, Brother. My goats told me that you are A Goat Person, and that you really need goats.

The next couple days should be an interesting test for those of us in New England and our goats. There is a local weather warning... wind chill -25 to -45. My goats have never been through temps like that, so I will be keeping a close eye on them.

My Nigerians would beg to differ. They don't mind cold one bit...and actually grow a thicker coat and do about the same if not better in the cold than the alpines! They will stay out side during any weather but heavy rain if there is food involved, especially.
