Where did everyone go?
I swear this forum has died down so much in the past few months. Where did everyone run off to??

Seems like it always dies down some in the hot summer. Everybody has kidded out, no one is breeding yet. Kind of a dead season. :(

Trying to get a house ready for new renters. Working my fingers to the bone. I get the goats fed and milked, but that's about it, goat wise.

We're trying to get ready for fall, still trying to put up fencing, canning an putting by food, siding on the house, 8-19 cord of wood before winter, re-staining the fence and deck, apples will soon be ready to pick, when it cools down some there will be butchering to do, we're digging ditch to put the french drain in .... all this amidst the noise of some very randy bucks and does. Heck I haven't even had the chance to clean the chicken coop or muck out the barn. It supposed to rain this weekend, and I'll have to work through it. |

Summer time, & the livin is easy.:lookout:
Like others, trying to do all we can outside before rain. |
Been working with my new girls that I got a few weeks ago. Posted some pics of them. They are 4 ober doelings that were raised on their mothers so it's been an interesting time for me getting them used to being handled by me.
|
There's just fewer emergencies or exiting things going on in summer. Mid winter is the same for me, too. :P
And also... vet school. :D |
I do miss Min and Emily posting...but I suspect that has more to do with "moving on" or computer hitches...

Showing my age here: Justine looks like a Justine from the late 50's, early 60's on American Bandstand with Dick Clark. I bet she was named for her (LOL). Anyway, she was a BLONDE who dated a BLONDE guy named Bob...I think her last name was something like Correllie (sp?). They were quite an item in those days of yesteryear. My mom used to watch the show with us and she taught my sister and me how to jitterbug...it wasn't quite the same as the "fast dancing" on Bandstand, but mom was really good at it. She and her partner had won some contests in the Chicago area...my dad hated her partner (I remember that). Oh, well, enough history...

Is it
jus tin or jus teen Sorry but sometimes I just need things to be dumbed down. |
It is jus teen :).

Like some of the others here it just seems like I am so busy most days I don't have a lot of time to get on here.
I don't think my list is ever done, I check a few things off & add on double that it seems! I bet when it starts getting colder weather there will be a lot more folks showing up. |
It's 195 outside. I'm wore down at the end of the day. Kidding season starts in November and then it's Katy bar the door. :)

I'm mostly lurking as usual. I agree with Doug...the 100 degree days wear me out. Come on fall...but not winter...i don't like winter
|
Moved from Texas to Missouri and have been half killing myself getting a farm made out of undeveloped brushy land. Going off grid so haven't had power to spare for much computer work. Expect not to see much of me till the rest of the solar power is up and running. Making do on minimal power at the moment.
|
I've been gone for quite a while due to the amount of arguments... People irritate me very easily online. I am very amiable in person, though, trust me.
|
I am fairly new here but like most everyone else I have been staying busy between work, the animals and garden, and side work I do with farms in the area. I do enjoy checking out things though and will probably spend more time on here. Hope you all get your summer wish lists done
|
Gardening, canning, mowing, trimming feet, trying to get summer projects done before winter sets in. Trying to stay out of the 100 plus temps :(
|
I am here, too. Canning and gardening has taken over my life, for now!
|
Been trying to pop in but school has started back up and my sped route this year is now 3 hours long with 16 special need riders, 2 hours in between with early childhood riders. I leave the house at 4:45 am and get home at 5:30 pm, run around get the critters fed, water checked, shower and go to bed M-F.
Was suppose to do farmers market today but had to finally make chicken hole in chicken house because my LGD puppy has started eating eggs and playing ball with the wooden ones, so no more leaving the door open... |
LOL (the puppy...not the work schedule).
|
Tv show and moving and... going to the state fair with you... I think you've got my whole story Justine. ;) Lol
|
Shows and gardening and going to the Lake....
Post if I think someone needs help or can add something to another poster's good advice. If they have it covered I generally just "like" the post. Oh yeah, kidding season is the busiest, with pre-kidding (the hypocalcemia mantra begins!) the next busiest. |
Hi ya'll, I was only back for a little while but it was quite an intense little while here. I've decided this is not the place for me and am trying to return to Asia for a bit. It is sad about my wonderful little herd of Lamanchas having to find a new home, I hope they are able to go all together. I've really loved having them and the turkeys and chickens again but this land has been a very hard event on my body and I can't keep it up. Trying to have compassion for all living things while I am hurting myself is not the correct way to go about life. Anyway, maybe this is my "good-bye again" post. Justine I hope you meet with success in all your endeavors. You are a very special young woman and deserving of every good thing.
