What a lovely story. I'm glad her final times were good ones.

A good reason to try to end up in heaven is to get to e with some of the loving trusting livestock (that seems like to harsh a name to put on those 4 legged members of the family ) that have been with us. the old swiss cow who would come and moo at the front gate at milking time never offering to kick , the big plow horse dad had who would stand still as us as children climbed on under and jumped about his bucket sied feet. the old cur dog that you never new was there unless a cow tried to get to pushy as you fed or a snake was in the weeds you'd see him laying in the barn lot watching out for you as you came out from milking after dark tail wagging as he escorted you back home. I can think of these few and think there can't be another like them . and as I go out to get the chores the new doe spots me from 2oo feet away and comes running or the farm dog comes and meets me 1/4 mile from the house cause she heard the truck comeing . lets hope we can only be worthy of such devotion and trust .

Awwww, what a beautiful time she had with your family. So sorry she is gone - but so very glad she left you all with so much.

Beth,
To answer your question, my kids had named her Xen (I think that is how they spelled it) pronounced (zin) They said she reminded them of those budda statures, she just had that look of some wise ole soul contemplating deep thoughts when you would see her sitting around in the yard. I know that is probably just giving human emotion to an animal and she may have just been sitting around bored, thinking " Man, this place sucks" but I do not think so. I think like many of the older animals I have had through the years, she had lived long enough to have figured a few things out.
